instead of vertical or horizontal text how do i make it diagonal?

make a diagonal line and then use your text tool and you can write along that line. Just like you would do to have your text in a circle, except instead of drawing an ellipse, you use a line.

You can also write your text in a vector layer and simply rotate it to the direction you want.
