how do you cut and paste a picture so that its translucent on photoshop 6? thanks soo much for any help!

are you talking about liek for example you just wrote some text in another paint shop/photo shop window and you pasted it into another window youd want the text above the picture but the picture still there only the white or other color in the pasted picture not to be that color?

oh, i'm talking about copy and paste like this...

the picture is transparent over the black&white pictures in the collage.

just paste the new image and change the transparency of that layer.

sorry for not being too familiar with photoshop 6, but how would you do that?

i'm not sure because i use paint shop pro but you should have a layer menu where you can select different layers. And there should be a transparency slider that you can slide and change the transparency.

i know this is off the forum topic, but would you know how to slightly make the picture black&white yet let it still have faint colors to it?

try something like this:

You could also change the opacity of the colored layer probably to make it light.
