Hi, I have a website hosted at Angelfire and there are 3 banners on the top of my page, inserted by Angelfire. Does anyone know if thats the norm? I expected a banner and a pop-up or two but 3 banners on the top seems a bit excessive. Not only are there three but they are all the same.

Thanks, Will

Do you use frames on your website?
because if you do then anglefire will insert a banner to ALL of your pages.

No I don't have frames in that page, but it is linked to two other pages that only have one banner on them. All the code on that page has made the page MUCH bigger than I wanted it too.

could you please give me the link to your site and also post your code

Hey thanks for trying to help, but I don't think it would be wise to post it on here. Its not ^^^^ or anything illegal but its not saintly either. It just mentions imbibing which I wouldn't want under- aged people reading. I'll send you the link in an email.

well if you look at your code you do have the <anglefire ad> script (or watever) three times. try deleting 2 of them. should work

If you delete the ad script, odds are it'll just come back.

I've noticed that a lot of Angelfire sites have a bunch of pop-up ads lately, there isn't anything you can do about it.

I'll try deleting 2 of the scripts and see what that does before I move the whole thing. I kind of thought they'd be right back too, but its worth a try.

You just made me the happiest moderator in the world! Not many people would have passed up the chance to post their URL, so thank you for using your judgement in wanting children to look at your site. :) We really appreciate it!

I tried renaming the file and uploading it again to angelfire and each time I did that (twice), it had an extra banner each time.
The last time I did it there were 5 banners across the top, my webpage wasn't even visible until it was scrolled. I don't know why they would want to advertise on my site anyway, its just me and a few friends that will ever see it. I put it in my ISP webspace, no banners now. Thats what I should've done in the first place but I liked the idea of having it at a free host. And my 1300 byte webpage is back down from 25k with Angelfire. I still have one of the pages at Angelfire but it only has 1 banner in it, thats okay. I guess you get what you pay for!! :)

Angelfire keeps those banners there because it’s free sites are paid for and by those advertisers, it like having a thank-you page but it pops up, sticks to, your page!

if you were viewing source on the page, saving that, then reuploading it, you probably just didn't get rid of the ad code. the code is added every time the page is viewed, so for every time its already in the code, its going to add it again.

I hope that made sense :P

What I tried was cutting out all of the angelfire code from <Start of Angelfire code> to <End of Angelfire code> and then I named it something else. When I put it in my browser it had one more banner! I just took it out of Angelfire altogether. I wonder if freewebs is any better?
