add this to the <FRAMESET> tags:

border="0" frameborder="0" framespacing="0"

to get rid of the white space (i think)
the other space you are talking about however change the HTML of that left frame to this:

<html>
<head>
<title>menu</title>
<META NAME="Generator" CONTENT="Stone's WebWriter 3.5">
</head>
<BODY BGCOLOR="#000000" TEXT="#000000" LINK="#ffffff" VLINK="#000000" ALINK="#cc000e" BACKGROUND="http://www.freewebs.com/heidio/my_images/menu.png" topmargin=0 leftmargin=0 marginheight=0 marginwidth=0>
<br><br><center><a class="menulinks" href=/heidio/main.htm target="main">Home</a>
<p><a class="menulinks" href=/heidio/aboutme.htm target="main">About Me</a>
<p><a class=menulinks href=/heidio/Europe.htm target=main>Europe Pics</a>
<p><a class="menulinks" href=/heidio/guestbook.htm target="main">Guest Book</a>
<p><font color="#D8B5F4"> more coming soon</font></center>

<body>
</html>

the white space is there because it is in your actual picture. you have about a one to two pixel wide transparent area when i view it in PhotoShop.

sure thing! it's what the forum is here for. and don't feel stupid, it's a minor thing.
