View Full Version : fox TV!
Marianne 01-04-2005, 05:52 PM According to the American TV station Fox, in Holland, new born babies are being killed in hospitals by doctors, if parents ask them to, "when the babies are considered inconvenient on troublesome" - or for example, if a baby is missing a few fingers etc. They said a lot more about our country that is not accurate, but in my opinion, this is the worst allegation. I wonder - does anyone in the States actually believe the crap they tell you on Fox TV?
lefty 01-04-2005, 06:29 PM I don't believe most of what I hear on TV, despite the channel. But Fox is the worst, I don't even watch it.
sisqoluv 01-04-2005, 09:56 PM I'll gladly watch FOX for some of their Sunday night shows (The Simpsons, King of the Hill, for example); but NEVER for the news. My political postion and the level of biasness on FOX prevents me for watching the news. IF I happen to watch any news FOX gives, then it was something important that interupted another show.
aerith86 01-04-2005, 10:24 PM No, you'd have to be really dim to believe such things.
Why would any civilised country do those cruel things to babies?
kittycat 01-04-2005, 11:52 PM The only time I watch fox is for other shows, like sisqoluv, and I've never heard any one say anything good about their news.
I was watching Royal Canadian Air Farce about a month ago (tv comedy, a lot of it is satire on current events) and one of the segments was comparing different tv station news, CBC, CTV, BBC and FOX. The first three were fairly 'normal', but the FOX one was very dodgy, the anchorman was dressed as a clown and the spin on the news topic was completely off the wall... I'm guessing it's not far off from the truth :P
rosepetal 01-05-2005, 12:10 AM I don't really believe stuff on most news channels, magazines, etc. Some are pretty resourcefull, while others just tells us a bunch of crap that we're supposed to believe.. They could at least agree to lie about the same thing, when for example one channel said eminem is planning to quit his career and is right now retiring, when another says he died... o.o Dunno, all weird.
sisqoluv 01-05-2005, 02:01 AM I like to get my news online. I know ANYONE can post info online, so I go to reliable resources. I actually learn a lot about the world from the net :D

Well, our country does allow euthanasia, under certain circumstances, but there are very strict laws to control that - and a baby that's missing a few fingers would NEVER be euthanised - nor a child that's deaf or blind or mentally handicapped, or paralised, you name it. But Fox TV seems to have deliberately misunderstood our laws and our culture.

Of course, they want to BLOW things up so they have more viewership (and hence, ka-ching ka-ching..)

Well, technically Eminem would have to give up his career if he died... :hehe:
Kidding, I know what you mean. :)
Owlie42 01-05-2005, 08:22 PM I wonder - does anyone in the States actually believe the crap they tell you on Fox TV?
FOX likes to exaggerate and out-and-out lie to appeal to its particularly...dim...audience, who tend to be the insanely conservative.
Munchkin 01-06-2005, 01:02 AM I don't even bother watching fox tv :P
Owlie42 01-06-2005, 01:03 AM Ah well. The Netherlands is full of dangerous liberals who want to destroy our values! Of course we must demonize them! </sarcasm>
tokyo bleu 01-06-2005, 01:33 AM FOX T.V. or Faux News? I wouldn't believe anything on Faux News.
Cherchezlafemme 01-06-2005, 02:43 AM Hmm I havent heard that oh well lol All I've heard was about Holland legalizing euthanasia so is that not true? I'm confused :|
darkecko 01-06-2005, 02:58 AM i get all my news from dwarfs...
Makar 01-06-2005, 04:57 AM FOX T.V. or Faux News? I wouldn't believe anything on Faux News.
:confusion Are you making a funny, or is there actually something out there called Faux News?
Heheh...yeah. I admit, FOX is one of my favourite stations, soley for the fact that they broadcast some of the very few shows I actually watch at convenient times (Simpsons, King of the Hill, Seinfeld, Drew Carey). But I never listen to the news on television...usually I keep up with what's going on through the internet, which in retrospect is both a good and bad source.
Dude128 01-06-2005, 05:00 AM well are we talking about the Fox network, or the Fox News network?
I know Fox News is way conservative, but I've never really noticed Fox going either way, but I don't watch their local news or whatever national/world news they broadcast, so I don't really know...
Owlie42 01-06-2005, 05:28 AM I assume Fox news.
I don't watch fox for anything. If it's remotely associated with fox...*click*
tokyo bleu 01-06-2005, 07:09 AM Are you making a funny, or is there actually something out there called Faux News?
A funny, I guess. :P
Is the FOX (T.V.) network and Faux News related anyways? I don't think so, but I'm not really sure. I wasn't aware that they broadcasted news on the FOX network (just assuming).
Marianne 01-06-2005, 03:30 PM Hmm I havent heard that oh well lol All I've heard was about Holland legalizing euthanasia so is that not true? I'm confused :|
It's true. Euthanasia happens in most countries, but in other countries doctors can be jailed for that.
In Holland it is legal (I think I already said that in this thread) - but under very strict laws. So if a baby is terminally ill, and in a lot of pain, and there is no hope for any improvement, and the parents cannot bear to see the baby suffer, then it will probably be allowed. But it will never be allowed (for children or for adults) in less serious situations.
Rosey 01-07-2005, 12:16 AM when it comes to news, fox is not a channel i would wath for accuracy.

Ok that's what I though because on the FOX News (not FoxTV) that's what they said that they legalized it and use it under strict conditions. So that kinda confused me lol
