i dont get it. when i download a php file it tells me i need to CHMOD the files for them to work. what is that suppose to mean?

Or you can use Smart FTP from: http://www.smartftp.com/download/

WS_FTP is better, but you have to pay for it.

Smart FTP is free for download.

If your host offers cPanel, then you can use the file manager.

Do you know if hostultra offers that?

Yes, hostultra.com has free hosting with php, but it has the most annoying ads, that's why I moved. WS_FTP has a free version (WS_FTP LE is what it's called).
