Ok I am prob a bit biased, but I think that Sydney puts up the best fireworks display every year for new years eve.

I've heard that Sydney is the new years eve capital.

This side of the world, people say New York. But I'd probably agree with Sydney, because it has the harbor and fireworks reflect off the water all pretty-like...:)

new york seems like it would. i've never seen new years eve celebrations in sydney [or anywhere outside america] so.. i derno.

but i must say the new years eve parties at my house are slammin'! my grandparents come over and they usually bring flashy party hats and.. we have a wild time.

I say New york is the best place to celebrate New Year's Eve. But if you were refering to Chinese New Year, then it's Hong Kong

New York; hands down... then again, I've never celebrated New Year's outside of the U.S.

I don't really celebrate it or anything, so you could say that Minneapolis had the best and I would believe you.

I only get to see New Yorks celebrations on t.v. Do they have fireworks? All I remember is that the ball drops and then all these decorations come flying everywhere. Looks pretty good, but imo, no city beats Sydney on New Years Eve.

all i know is san jose where im from has celebrations in bars =]. i guess New York is one of the best place.

see i would say new york as well. the population is high and the city has lots of money so they can always do something big. besides it so well publisised around the world..... maybe this year it could be london, lol

The populations is huge in New York. Approximately how many people go to watch the main celebrations (I think in times square?).

Sydney has a bit over 4 million people, and last years new years eve over a million went around the harbour (no not on boats, on any areas around like the opera house) so the atmosphere would've been great. I missed out on watching it on t.v coz I went to this little place to watch a little fireworks display.

New Years is best wherever you are :P I have a fun time just rocking around in a small party with my friends and family.

I usually spend the night in my house, but a few times I have gone out, as long as I'm having fun, who cares where the party is ;)
