e-mail forwarding is when someone sends you an email and you want to forward that email to someone else. In hotmail you can click "forward" and you will be able send the exact email to someone else. This is mucho done with those funny emails etc.

if you are talking about email forwarding with a domain then it means that your mail that you receive at your special you@yourdomain.com adres is automatically send to your regular email for example on hotmail.com

this is what i found about url forwarding on a website:

A: Like "telephone call-forwarding" URL or domain forwarding (also called 'redirect') re-route internet traffic from your V3 domain to the URL or web address wher your site is actually hosted. There're several advantages associated with URL forwarding: i) you can use your forwarding domain to point to any other web address. This means that you can use the traffic that you build for your V3 domain to promote any site or product, regardless of the actual URL where the site or product sits; ii) you can point several V3 domains to a same URL. This will create several gateways to your site or product and therefore boosts the internet traffic you send to it.

and this about email forwarding:

A: like URL forwarding, email forwarding redirects any message sent to your V3 email address to an email of your choice, the target email. Some advantages of using a V3 email forwarding address: you can keep your same V3 forwarding email even if you change ISPs, work email or college email. This will avoid you the hassles of having to update your friends every time you change email addresses. Just give your permanent and personalized V3 email address.

Your host will have given you some 'nameservers' when you registered with them, if you dont have them you'll have to ask for them again. They will probably be something like DNS1.hostname.com, DNS2.hostname.com etc
Then you need to login in to the place you bought the domain NAME from and there will be an area somewhere to edit the nameservers...put in the ones your host gave you.
