I was wondering....Is anybody else but me homesick where they live? coz I'm 16 and I grew up in Bronx, New York and those of you who have been there know how cool and BIG it is. Well, when I was 11 my parents made me move w/ them to Tampa, Fl. I was a lil excited bcoz of the things I've heard ("its sunny", "Disney World", "Busch Gardens", etc), but when I got there I saw an exact opposite of what I heard. It was sunny like they said but it was pretty empty. the streets were empty, the stores and side walks were empty, and to top it all off every store and house I went to resembled a cage! my hair has never gotten so frizzy, since there's so much more himidity here. my attitude completely changed coz I used to play so much sports, and I used to hang out w/ my friends more often and I used to talk alot, but ever since I got here I've played less sports (the only sport I can play here is Basketball, and its not that good since the only b-ball hoop ive seen is like 15 miles from my house), I dont even feel like talking to the friends I have here so I dont call em or hang out really, just in school, and I'm the quietest girl in my class. I'm so homesick I just wanna go back to NY so bad but my parents told me "dont worry hun, you'll get used to it here", and I've been here 6 years already, so theres no way thats ganna happen. altho, they told me I can go back for college but thats 2 years away and I'm sick of waiting! even the ppl r different. there's atleast 1 thing I dont like about everybody! :(. I cry on Christmas. my parents have lost their X-mas spirit and they never buy presents anymore, all the money they have they spend it on the bills or to buy dozens of video games for my brothers to calm them down so they wont fight anymore, and they dont even deserve it. and I haven't seen snow in 6 years!!! (snow, how I miss thee :crying: ) the only thing I like about FL is Busch Gardens coz they have Howl-O-Scream for Halloween each year. I haven't even been to Disney World  (anyone surprised?) coz its in Orlando, and my parents have hated traveling ever since we got here. they've just gotten really boring and annoyed :grouch:. I would definitly say florida is a state that much older ppl would enjoy since there are less "kids" to make a riot and its definitly less crowded.

Does anyone else feel as homesick where they live as I do?:viola:

I kind of am, because I'm at school now... I can't wait for winter break to start because that means that finals are over lol and because a lot of people here have been irritating me lately- I think we all need a break from each other :P

but at the same time, I also like it here- I like being 10 feet away from my friends, and I can be more independent here- if I need something from a store, I can walk or I can take a bus anywhere in the county for free (yay for being in a city), and I just like the area I'm in. at home I don't have a car and nothing is within walking distance, and it's harder to see people. plus my parents sometimes get on my nerves too :P

so I suppose I'm not really homesick, I'm sick of some people here :P

you're lucky. i hate walking here. everything is so far away and the busses take an hour just to arrive! if there's any place "close" its like 6 very long blocks away (thats the closest you can find here) and since the heat is so intense you can get thirsty and tired fast. i never had that prob in NY coz everhthing is close (like RIGHT THERE!) and it's normal temperature (i dont mean around christmas lol).

I'm sick of some people here :P
Im sick of everybody here! :grouch::rolleyes:

i'm not homesick, but i'm sick of my home

you just have to try to make the most out of what you have. :o you have to be optimistic and have a positive attitude otherwise nothing will ever get better. i hope things get better for you soon :(

hey, around here we have plenty of fun with duct tape and stolen objects :P

like duct taping a stolen chair back to someone's ceiling.

or duct taping 100+ copies of a photo (printed at a computer lab, so it didn't cost anything, they just came out of someone's print quota) of the guy in charge of the freshman engineering program to the hallway wall for the halloween decorating contest the engineering floors had- now that's scary.

or just duct taping someone- sneak up behind someone, wrap the duct tape around, and tape their limbs to their body and stuff.

fun times on the 10th floor :P
