Is it possible to have the entire image transparent using microsoft paint?

I have a checkered background on my website, and I want to put an image of a rounded cornered rectangle on it.

The problem with this is that there are parts on the corners which are white. Is is possible to make them transparent so that the checkered background appears?

No,paint can't make things transparent.

Try a trail of psp(jasc.com) & I think gimp makes things transparent.

actually, your wrong... (at least i think you are, if your talking about MS Paint)

You can change the background of a picture to be transparent. just click on image > attributes. set the transparent color, make sure that it is a color you donnot have in your picture, otherwise it would be transparent. Also, make sure the image is saved as a .gif, those are the only images that support transparency.

another good transparency program is GiFFY, and it gives you the choice to save as a .bmp or.gif.

where can u get an MS Paint that has that?

ask around if people have windows installing cd's. You can't download paint from the internet as far as i know.

I guess it is just luck, since some do but some don't. Still paint won't be able to save in the same quality as psp or photoshop, so i think to save time it's better to download that anywayz :)

You can't get a version of MS Paint with those capabilities.

I think I read somewhere that it's only the version of Paint that comes with Windows XP that can make pics transparent.

EDIT: I'm not sure about this, and I can't find it again on the internet, so don't think it's confirmed or anything. Just an idea.

i had windows98 and had ms paint :)
so it's not an XP only thing :D
