Hi,

I'am totally confused! I made my graphic transparent(Or so I thought) and when I open it back up, the background is black, even though when I see the picture it's white. (And even when I see it have the little white and gray boxes when I turn it transparent..it looks as if I've done it) But then when I open it, there is this black background...

Why?! :crying:

Hopefully that made sense..thanks for any help you can give me :).

I think you have to save them as .gif to make them transparent. :)

What program are you using and what format are you saving them in?

And are you uploading it and viewing it or looking at it on your computer? I usually find i can't tell an image is transparent until i upload it.

Yes I'am saving it as a gif

I'm using PSP 9

And Yes, I'am looking at it on my computer. See the problem is..I need to take them and add them to my 'main' graphic...but there is this black background on them, and it's making it hard to put them on a blue and lightish blue background with this black background on it.

When you run the gif optimizer...

On the transparency tab tick existing image or layer transparency

On the Partial Transparency tab tick use full transparency for pixels below 1%
AND tick No, use the existing image color to 100% opacity

On the Colors tab tick Optimized Octee

I did all of this and it still gives me a black background :crying:

**EDIT**

Ok..now when I go to redo these instructions...it shows the gif as a transparent graphic..but I still see the black background whenever I have it open and on that picture....

It's a doll and I'am trying to get it to sit on one of my letters of my word..and the black background is still there, and it hides my letter...
