I currently have a Compaq Presario 1200 which has given me a lot of trouble, and I was thinking about switching to an Apple iBook. I am decent at computers, but when looking at the specifications (RAM, speed, etc.) I am completely lost.

I cannot seem to find the specs for my Presario online anywhere, so I do not know how much RAM my hard drive came with or how fast it is. Looking at the iBooks, I am unsure of wether to get the G3, G4 or G5, and what it all means. Some people say that the iBooks are slower, some say faster. I don't need a whole lot, but I would like it to be fairly speedy.

I am just looking for someone to help me unravel this mystery, preferably someone who has dealt with both a Windows laptop and also a Mac. Also anyone with Mac notebook reccomendations would be helpful!
