I'm a coding novice and I was wondering if it is possible to use Clear Type fonts on web pages with some CSS/HTML codes. To put it simply, what do I do if I want to display Clear Type fonts on my web pages? Please tell me if it is possible and if so, how?

kinda unsure what you mean by "clear" fonts.
if it is a font that is not common, then most people may not see the font as their computers dont know it. fonts normally have to be downloaded and installed onto a computer before it can display that font on a monitor.

ClearType is a technology introduced my Windows (on XP alone, I think) to improve the font (any font) appearance and make 'em look smooth textured. It can be enabled from the Display Properties on XP (not sure about other Windows OS).

I was wondering if there was a way to get web pages to display ClearType effect (again, for whatever font I select) even if the computer accessing the web page does not have ClearType enabled.

i dont think there is a way at this point in time.
perhaps, and it would be a very slim chance, if your host is using windows instead of apache for a server operating system, they may be able to enable it or not.

Yeah...didn't think there was a way either since ClearType is an end-user option and even that limited to XP users (I think)...but imagined there probably was a way to do it and that's the reason I asked...thanks for the help

yoda ... "do or do not, there is no try."
(he also said to be groovy but that was cut out of the movie)
Maybe it's completely out of context here, but "yoda" brought to my mind a funny incident that was brought to my notice some time back. A former waitress sued the restaurant where she used to work, saying she was promised a new Toyota for winning a beer sales contest. She claimed that she was blindfolded and led to the parking lot to see her prize and when the blindfold came off she found she had won a new toy Yoda. Maybe folks have heard this before and, as I said earlier, it's not in context with the contents of this forum topic/thread, but it's an attempt to infuse a li'l bit of humor.
