I was working on a siggie that didn't come out right when I discovered when trying to make a border with the text there was a faded area around it instead of a solid pixel line. The lighter area affects the border when you expand to get the border. Does anyone know how to change it so it's solid and no faded area?

The tutorial I'm using is here (http://pixelfx.org/tuts/psp8/borderedtext1.html) .

do you happen to have "anti alias" on when selecting the text? she tells you to turn it off, while in her graphic example she has all the things on that should be off. A little confusing that might be :)

this is how i did it always when using psp8:

- open new image
- make background color black
- type white text on it and make sure it is set at vector and not floating
- go to selections > from vector object (if doesn't work, check if you have the text layer selected and not the background layer.)
- if done right the letters only should be selected
- go to selections > expand and fill in 2px or something
- go to edit > copy merged
- go to the image you want to have the text on and do edit > paste or hit ctrl+v to paste it. It should be bordered :)

because you copy merged, it also copies the expanded part as the background color wich is in this case black with it. That's how you get the border :)
