i've tried and tried to do this but i just cant! how do u make images with transparent backgrounds? you know, like if you don't want it to be an ugly square, but a free form shape? the paint pics i made; i unchecked "draw opaque" but there's still the stupid white bg on it. if anyone knows how to do this please e-mail me or reply!! thank u!

I think you're gonna need either Paint Shop Pro or Photo Shop.
What you have to do is paste the cut image onto a blank canvas and save it as a transparent gif.
To do mine i use Photo Shop which in my opinion is the best.

i have arcsoft's photo impression 4, and its ok, but i still can't make transparent images on it.

You can download a 30day trial for PS from www.adobe.com

It is basically the best graphics program of it's type, so once you get the hang of it you shouldn't be dissappointed :P

amazon.com has very cheap copies of PS, roughly 200-300 dollas.

amazon is good but so is kelkoo.com
