I heard people mention the word downtime and uptime in web hosting. what are those suppose to mean?

downtime is when a websites not working and uptime is when it is working

Downtime is when the hosts computers don't work so your website can't be viewed, and uptime is when they are working. Most servers have about 98% uptime.
