Dude128 10-27-2004, 09:51 PM my connection is at least a T1- they said at some point that dorms have a T1 connection, but there's no way a single T1 would support all the residents. they may have a T1 for each building or I think they may actually have multiple T3 lines for all the dorms. and I've heard that academic buildings have an OC-12 connection to the city's supercomputing center. from there I have no idea what kind of insane connection they have :P all I know is that they have absolutely no shortage of bandwidth, particularly to their network, from within the academic buildings. and why, when they have that, dorms' Internet access goes through AT&T (I think), I have no idea. but it's still crazy fast :P |
