I have to go get my wisdom teeth out on Nov. 6th. I'm SO scared! Everbody tells me it hurts really, really bad. Does anyone have words of wisdom for me about what to do?

Words of advice: keep the tylenol handy, but only take it if it's absolutely necessary. You'll be pretty numb for a while.

Your mouth will be numb for quite a while so try not to eat hard foods like apples and buy alot of aleeve for the pain.

Eat ice cream! Can help dull pain a bit (so I've found) plus it tastes good :P When I had mine out a few years ago it was only about a day or two after that it hurt any, after that it was all right.

tylenol3 (also known as t3) were my best friend.
just rest and recover.

pain should not be a consideration during the process if they do the freezing right. some people actually get "put under" asleep to get it done.

I was awake also, and I had all of mine too. They don't put you too sleep here, they use local anesthesia (sp?) to numb your mouth.

And don't listen to people, because everyone is different. For example, my face didn't swell up, and I hardly had any pain.

Yes, eat ice cream....it makes your mouth feel good. :)

I had all four of mine out. It didn't hurt any. It hurt more when they were trying to come thru and had no space.

Ice cream is good and cold jello I had both. Avoid food with pips like jam and rassberry as they irritate your gums after.

I don't have my wisdom teeth yet..if I do it's not hurting..that's weird.
