what exactly is an ilayer? how do you use them? are they like a div or iframes? do you target them? basically, I need to know everything about ilayers, including compatibility if you know it. thx

Search at the bottom of the screens and take their advise which basicly is try searching the web. I did that and mostly you get users guides and advertising requirements for peoples websites.

From what I've seen, an ilayer seems to be basically the same as a div. You're better off to just use a div, I don't believe ilayers are very compatible (or at least not really recommended according to this. (http://www.gerbilbox.com/newzilla/webdesign/general05.php))
