How do you find out someones IP Address so you can ban them?

Do you have an comment system on your site? if so, some view the IP and have the work "bann" next to it (well it has on mine system) . Do not click bann because that will only bann the person from commenting, but copy the IP and ban it for your site

also some gbooks view the IP (if you are the owner offcourse) and so does greymatter logs IP's and so does this forum, but you can only see them if you are a moderator (i guess) or the owner
