I have freewebs.com and I wanted to know what everyone else may have and which is the best so I can subscribe to the best and not waste my money on others that do not cover things that you may want.

Thee Sadistic 09-29-2004, 12:27 AM I have freewebs.com and I wanted to know what everyone else may have and which is the best so I can subscribe to the best and not waste my money on others that do not cover things that you may want. Monkey Bizzle 09-29-2004, 12:31 AM I use Quality Host Online plan 2 http://www.qualityhostonline.com/hosting.htm very cheap compared to others Webhost 09-29-2004, 01:18 PM Rule of thumb...never trust a host who is ridiculously cheap, they will soon go under leaving you high and dry. www.pixehost.com is a friend of mine, and I can say they offer everything you can get with a hosting account at no extra charge. Email them and ask a few questions and you will be convinced they are the best choice. You can even get 50MB free by emailing free@pixehost.com StarryIlove 09-29-2004, 02:51 PM A good thing is to see whether they have a money back gaurantee if they do you can try them out and if you don't like them get your money back I've done this many times while looking for a host and have had no problem so far :) Chris 09-29-2004, 06:57 PM Rule of thumb...never trust a host who is ridiculously cheap, they will soon go under leaving you high and dry. www.pixehost.com is a friend of mine Their prices are pretty cheap, which is kind of ironic. Monkey Bizzle 09-29-2004, 07:07 PM yeah, exactly what i was going to say... i've used a "rediculously cheap" host for several months now and I haven't experienced any problems... sometimes you have to take the chance if you don't have a lot of money... Webhost 09-29-2004, 08:15 PM Those prices aren't cheap at all. They are reasonable, and those who charge more are gouging. When I say cheap, I mean $5 a year and 50 cents a month, lol. That's a real problem nowadays, no one really knows what hosting SHOULD cost, so they don't kow what is cheap, reasonable, and way overpriced. Also, there are many people who have gone with cheap hosts for months without problems. The problem is, eventually, your site will grow, maybe you'll have a forum with many posts and members. Then the host finally busts, and your site, forum, and Database are gone forever, and there's nothig you can do about it. If your website isn't important, sure, gamble on a cheap host. But if you need reliability for the life of your site, either pay more or go fo a sponsored solution. seanm 09-29-2004, 11:44 PM Try this page. Lissa Explains It All: Paid hosts (http://www.lissaexplains.com/paidhosts.shtml). Webhost 09-29-2004, 11:52 PM All of those hosts are paying her in one way or another for a recomendation...I would not put much faith in those hosts just because they are listed there, anyone could pay to be listed. Temiko 09-30-2004, 01:33 AM I use synergyblue.com for hosting (US$7.95/month). :P I've heard of some other hosts but yeah, synergyblue is the only one I've actually used. You can try looking at places like globat.com though. StarryIlove 09-30-2004, 12:10 PM I've got to admit pixehost do look good. I'm considering them and I'm really picky! Why do you think I've done trials with so many hosts lol tkdgurl927 09-30-2004, 08:25 PM hi...try www.findmyhosting.com to fit your needs. i am hosted on www.siteflip.com and i love it there! i have the 95 cents per month plan (only available through the www.findmyhosting.com link)and i get lots of stuff including 250 mb of space and 5 gb of bandwidth, plus loads more stuff! i highly recommend them. good luck! Webhost 09-30-2004, 10:47 PM 95 cents a months does not even come close to covering their server costs. Be sure you have a good backup of your site.
