I'm in an area that gets flooded a lot. Right now I just came back from Cross Country team dinner and like half the roads were flooded. During Ivan, I saw a car completely submerged in 6 feet of water.

Well then, stay safe!

A tornado about 1.5 kilometres close to Queen Of Wise's house? Yikes! How wide is the tornado? You better get the newspaper tomorrow!

Your not alone. I used to live in northern AL and every summer there would be a tornado alert. Now I live in WI. Just recently (well actually 3 months ago,)there was a tornado alert for jackson, monroe, and richland counties. If you look at the crudely made marks I made on this GIF, you can see where there was a tornado coming towards us (^), where there was another tornado coming towards us (X), and the part of Monroe county we live in (O).

Heh. I get that all the time. Not exactly just a mile. I've never exactly witnessed a tornado, but being in the middle of Tornado Alley, yeah. All the time. x_x And it's all rainy now, because the hurricanes 'round the coast.

I didn't hear of many tornadoes this year, though. =)

Wow! You are very fortunate that your house wasn't damaged. Lucky for me I live in the west coast, we don't get tornadoes or hurricanes. Just extremely hot weather sometimes.

School is closed until further notice, there is 6 feet of water in front of my house....we're the only house on high grounds so everyone else had to evacuate throughout last night. My dad is riding a boat around the block rescuing people and their pets!

Wow amazing. I guess it's kinda interesting AND scary. The weather in the uk is mostly mild so we never have any thing as major as that happen. Only thing we get is floods.

I live 2 miles from the gulf of Mexico in Pensacola. When Ivan came through, imagine that tornado, only 60 miles wide and it lasted 8 hours. That's what it is like here.

Apparently, a tornado is stronger than a hurricane, although they don't last near as long. And I've heard, but don't know if it's true, that hurricanes create tornadoes.

So. Yeah.
