Is it just copyrighted mp3's that are illegal? I've put one on our class website - a song some of the boys in our class made up and recorded as an mp3. That's ok, isn't it? I hope so.... Also, so long as that part is ok, how to I change my code so that the music doesn't start until it's fully loaded? At the moment it is all gappy.

If you asked the guys permission then it's ok. That's the deal with mp3's too from famous people, if you have the permission to use them you are free to use them. But since mp3's are allready illegal itself i don't think so that you can get permission from an artist for that :P

The mp3 format is not illegal however some hosting sites will still not allow any sounds files.. It all depends on what the mp3 contains. If it's by an artist that has copywright on it such as anyone in the music charts then it's illgeal. The file you have uploaded is fine as it's by your friends..

I'm unsure but don't you have to pay to get something legaly copywrighted? Anyway like i said ur fine with the mp3 you've uploaded.. I'm pretty sure you're friends aren't going to seek legal action against you to remove it from ur site :p
