Hi there,

To burn a DVD you need a DVD burner. If you had a DVD but no DVD burner could you save it to your hard drive and then use some software to convert it so it can be copied onto a regular CD?

Thanks in advance for any help.

you could try convert it to an .avi file or .mpeg (.mpg)
but then you can't play it as a normal dvd, the cd will only play the movie on a computer.

Dvd to mpg (http://www.google.com/search?q=dvd+to+mpg&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8)

Dvd to avi (http://www.google.com/search?hl=nl&ie=UTF-8&q=dvd+to+avi&btnG=Zoeken&lr=)

hope that helps :)

Mirna

and you can find converters for that here:

http://www.google.nl/search?hl=nl&ie=UTF-8&q=dvd+to+vcd&btnG=Google+zoeken&lr=

still for mpeg and avi most players don't recognize them in a dvd player but do recognize them on the computer (then you all do is open the file itself and play it)

My problem is I have a DVD I need to copy. I don't have a DVD copier. Is it very complicated to try and copy without a DVD copier?

i don't think you really need a dvd player/burner for that, since the computer copies it :)

that's an example to copy a dvd to an .avi or .mpeg file. offcourse you can also find other tools for other fileextensions. Just search for "copy dvd to ***" and replace *** with the extension you want (vcd, avi, mpeg etc)
