I have permission to link to various sites and they have given me an HTLM link to copy and paste into my web page. The problem is after saving and then viewing my page, the HTML still shows as "script language" and not as a link to their logos. I hope this makes sense, im completely new at this and seem to spend all day reading about html but never quite get my problem fixed!! Help or I will be here for weeks!!

you are probably using an "easy page maker", like a visual creator like FrontPage or Yahoo Pagebuilder. if so... then you must find the option that allows you to view the html coding of your page instead of the visual part of your page, then insert the new code into the actual page coding.

you may be far better off opening your webpage in a text editor like notepad, then inserting the new code that way.
