Hi there,

Does anyone out there know how to construct a fancy email like ones that you can put in pictures, hyperlinks, format your text and order them into a table like in a web browser? I have done one but in Word and for certain people, they can't receive it at all. I must be doing something wrong. Is there a reference site I can go to for help on this? Or is there a special editing software to do this? I have received quite a number of fancy written emails from companies and I can't seem to figure out how they do it ...

I believe the recipient has to be able to recieve/read HTML emails. I think most free email providers (yahoo, hotmail, etc) can read HTML emails, but I'm not sure about AOL.

just so you know, AOL only kinda sorta supports HTML emails. most stuff works, but links don't usually- it seems kind of picky too, because sometimes some stuff works and other times it doesn't

Ok then, but what software do I use to compose the funky email?

I've never done this (other than sending hyperlinks), but wouldn't you just input the HTML on a blank email and send?

that would do it.

the reason they sometimes don't allow html is because spammers put a code in there to see if the message has been read to tell if you're an active email.

If you use outlook you can include backgrounds, images, etc.

I used to have a version where you could go in and use html... but not anymore :(. The emails look nice to you, but if the person you're sending it to isn't using outlook, it'll look horrible - but including images works well. I use smilies all the time :)

I'm doing this not for personal email but for corporate use. So I should use a normal web editor and paste it on the email? Is there a site I can go to for reference? HELP! I'm actually doing this for a company that has a mailing list and they have a sale in their store. So I'm building this email to showcase their products which are on promotion ... Help!

Hi there ..
I tried to put the HTML source codes into a blank email - it doesn't work. How do I put the pictures in? Am I copying it all wrong? Help!

if it's for a business, then i might actually advise staying away from HTML in emails, since not everyone can view them. most mailing lists have a HTML email and non HTML email option, so you could send two seperate ones, but if the list you're using doesn't, it might be safer to stick with text- you know that everyone will be able to view it.

Hi guys,
Do any of you know the cause of this? I've composed an email invite that has a picture but when I send it out the recipient can't see the picture. The picture does not come out at all. Help.

Thanks!

how did you include the picture? if you used the normal image code <img src...> and used the URL of the file on your hard drive, then only you will be able to see it. you need to put it online or send it to every recipient of the email
