I signed up at http://uk.geocities.com/ and i use blogger.com for updates. Well i want to use it. So i changed my information into this:

ftp: ftp.uk.geocities.com
name: bwclique
pass: *********

But it still gives me the error 530, that the password or username is wrong and that i should check the following page on uk.geocities.com bla bla bla. So i did, i even copied the ftp adres from the site INTO the box on blogger.com to make sure it is right but nothing works

So i tried login in again on uk.geocities.com to make sure i had my pass and username right, i log in and everything is fine, pass and username. I do the same on blogger.com and beeep i get the error again.

Does anybody know what is going on? Or is it just me with my blonde hair :P I typed in the adres very slow several times to make sure that i didn't typed any spelling mistakes in it. If it is wrong then how come i can log in to the filemanager and not FTP it from blogger.com to the webpage? If anyone can help me i would be so glad! Thanks

I have had the exact same problem with a different host! And I have no clue, it might be something with the host. I tried many different kinds of FTP: Dreamweaver FTP, CuteFTP,... But none worked. I also made sure that I had the right username and password, and just like you I copy and pasted just to make sure! I also read all their FAQ, BUT IT JUST DIDN'T WORK!

Yeah, it was pretty ding-dang important to me (Rewritable)

And I don't know, but last time I was at Geocities it told me that they didn't support FTP...

uk.geocities.com isn't the same as geocities.com :) geocities.com doesn't support FTP, but as far as i know uk.geocities.com does (see their big FTP link on their site and a whole support thing about it)

oh well, i will try later on. All my site's are gone, see the thread in the CHAT section named "happy birthday MaGiCsuN" to read what happened :)
