Heh, I think there was a thread like this a while ago, but I am just curious as to see how you all got here. You know how a lot sites ask people when signing up how they found out about them...curiousity! And to see if their advertising techniques are effective, maybe...

Anyway, I first found Lissa Explains through Google, must've been over four years ago, because that's when I started to get into web design. :P

I found the site about March 2003, whilst looking for HTML codes through google. Then I joined the forum something like..a day later.

I remember first coming across LEIA looking for HTML help for my Neopets shop and guild. Then I saw what cool things you can do with it, and I decided that I wanted to make a site of my own...which I'm just now getting started on lol. And now I can type HTML and CSS codes from memory. :D

I think i saw a link to it on the first ever personal site i visited (that i was in awe of!), they said this is where they learned and i wanted to be as cool as them so i came and started learning....must have only been a week or so later that Lissa created the forum and i signed up as soon as i saw it :)

I saw a link to LEIA from another site. After about a month or so I discovered the forum.

i hadn't coded anything in html in a few years, so i kinda missed the whole iframes/divs/css thing, which were vital to know when i started coding again.

so, my lil bro (zeppy) pointed me here when i had a question he couldn't (or didn't want to) answer... :)

I believe it was about year ago when I did search with Google.
It took few months to sign up at forum though, I think, not quite sure.

early 2000 i think.. i remember it was before the forum.. cause i remember seeing it and thinkin "omg how cool!!!!!!!!" lol

i found LEIA from an internet friend's website..

i found it through another site it had linked the site saying to learn html from there, after that, it took me about 2 days to read all the pages and then i set off to make a site without frontpage :)

About four years ago, when I first started web design, I'd always ask one of my friends for help. I guess she got tired of me bugging her, so she gave the link to the site, and Ive been visiting ever since. I joined the forum last year, when I noticed it. >_>;;

i discovered it on google, searching for "HTML tutorial for kids" or something like that. that was when i was like 10. i didn't discover the forum until i was 13!

From a site with animated gifs on it :hehe: *bad me bad* Before I'd just used one of the templates from wherever the site was hosted and tried to change a few things in the advanced editor... then I found the site and basically abandoned that :P I joined the forum a few days later, I think Mirna was the one who helped me in my first thread, avie in my second :P
I wish I'd been more clever in thinking up a username then, though :P

i typed something like HTML help or somethign like that in google and it was one of the first results... i remembered coming here a long time ago when i saw the colors and stuff... but i found the forum on my second time around!

Well i've been going on lissaexplains for a loooooooonnnnnnnngggggggggg time and in her first layout on her personally owned domain the forum link was so small i like never noticed and i bookmarked the html page so for like what.....2 years i never saw it LOL XDDDDD then last year i finally saw it and joined as "star_jewelz" i thought everyone hated me so i later re-joined as "Cherchezlafemme" then i was annoying by speed posting and stuff :lol: I met a lot of good friends in the fiction section too :D i also am one of the reasons why the fiction posts dont count anymore :lolol: my leia life is so interesting haha

Lissa is my cousin! LOL! Seriously though, she is! :D Which means that Sarah is my cousin too. Hehe! I loves the family.

I know it was after I learned HTML, I learned it somewhere else. but I know the forum had been around for a while while I had known about the site but for some reason I didn't sign up right away, and when I did I was around for maybe a couple weeks, then I forgot about it, then came back a while later and have been here since.

Heh, yeah even though I had been going here for a while I didn't even find the forums until last year, because Lissa's old layout hat that teeny little link in the nav bar, under some banner, I think. I was like "Whoa, there are forums here!" So I signed up and asked a question here and there, then a couple months later I became an active member.

I honestly can't remember....It was either referral link/banner or search engine.

edit: that's not true actually, I had seen her site once or twice, but I wasn't a regular. It was only after I met her (and found out that, contrary to what I expected, she was not some school teacher, but just a 12 year old kid at the time...!) - only then did I visit this site more often.

Back in the day when I was still bothering to work on my web-site I found this site while looking for HTML help. Ah... That was like circa 8th grade... I remember sitting in Algebra class talking with my friend about it. Huh. LONG time ago. And I still come back! :) Not for HTML help anymore, though.

I found it on someone's website: someone had accused one of my friends of stealing the code (apparently), and they apologized, saying that she got the HTML from here.
