Hi guys,
I asked a guy at another forum how he gets these shiny things and rainbow colors on his grapics and here's what he said:
Most of them are brushes (used in "eraser" mode) combined with internal/external shining.
I have a lot of brushes but I'm wondering how you put them in "eraser" mode, I looked under the brush mode menu but I can't find "eraser." And what the heck is internal/external shining?
Thanks!!
I have Photoshop 6.

I only have Photoshop Elements, but I think it should be similar, if not the same.
For the brushes in eraser, go to the mode of eraser, it'll probably be on the top of your screen, and select mode, and choose Paintbrush, then it works pretty much the same as in normal Brush mode, just choose the brush you want and erase.
I can't help with the shining bit, coz my version doesn't seem to have that, so yeah. But try under the Layer Styles.

actually, just pick the eraser tool that is on the tool bar and then you choose which brush you want and when you use the brush, instead of coloring, it will erase in the shape of the brush!

I would instead create a custom shape, paint it the color I want, add a bowel, with white and a dark color, and filters (screen + color dodge). It'd look just good and modern, like cristal design.
Most designers do just that.

Thanks. I am still confused. I guess I have a lot of experimenting to do with Photoshop. There is always more to learn. *sigh*

you said you have photoshop so i did like a little diagram to show you what things to choose to use the eraser like a paintbrush...
