But you should be here in Alberta...really, a tornado landed just a week ago really close to our city...hail the size of golf balls...it was freaky.
Cherchezlafemme 08-12-2004, 06:00 PM there's hurricane charlie going to florida :P so no fun at all
good thing i dont live in florida lol but i think bonnie is gunna hit the panhandle (right side of the state of texas lol)
Shirl 08-12-2004, 06:00 PM Hehe, its starting to storm here in Delaware...on the east coast of the U.S. too :P Hurricane Charlie is headed for me lol :D hahahaha
Where do they come up with those storm names? Charlie?! That doesn't sound very storm-like...
Shirl 08-12-2004, 06:03 PM Because if they used numbers to track them all it'd be like "Watch out for huricane 8745234453434252497" hahahaha :D
OK, you got me there.
Now back to the weather...
allie 08-12-2004, 06:11 PM I'm in Florida. One tropical storm hit the Florida panhandle today, and another one is expected to hit the west coast of Florida tomorrow. School has been cancelled in our area for tomorrow!
starlet 08-12-2004, 06:13 PM ack i always forget Americans get much cooler weather than us...so a little British storm is nothing  anyway it appears to have chilled out now, still the odd rumble of thunder but i can actually see more than 1 foot infront of me now, shame that was fun...if a little scary!
bubblegummy 08-12-2004, 06:27 PM I was outside when the storm started here :( LOADS of rain came down in just a few minutes so we all got soaked whenever a car came by... there wasn't all that much lightning and such, just buckets of rain.
jazzberry 08-12-2004, 06:46 PM Ugh, that looks like an icky storm :|
MaGiCSuN 08-12-2004, 08:08 PM your cam shows an awsome shot thought ! from the lightening ;) I tried in the summer of 2003 to make a photo of the lightening in Hungary when i was on a holiday. There it was so different then a thunderstorm here in holland, and when the lightening came you didn't need any other lights haha. No luck though, i was always too late :P
Love,
Mirna
Christopher 08-12-2004, 08:11 PM We just got hit by Bonnie this morning, and Charlie is coming tomorrow  Bonnie wasn't too bad, and it went right over us, but Charlie's winds are up to 90 mph !!
Shirl 08-12-2004, 08:20 PM You live in Florida Chris? I live in Delaware, Charlie is supposed to come up here after it hits Fla. :P They could've at least given it a somewhat frightening name lol....Ooo Charlie's gonna get us :P hahaha
Marianne 08-12-2004, 08:27 PM I've been trying to take pics of lightning for ages, and I always fail!
I hope that storm stays on your end of the North Sea, Starlet ;)
kittycat 08-12-2004, 09:09 PM I tried to take a photo of lightning the last time there was a storm here, unfortunately my window isn't really great for that... I just put the digital camera in movie mode hoping maybe I'd catch it ;) It was a big storm too, for like 1 hour+ it rained heavy and lightning almost nonstop. That camp pic is so neat looking though!

http://egokill.org/storm.jpg > poictures of after that storm .. i think its the right storm.. Thats all hail by the way.
storms arent fun. Well, sometimes, they are. But not when theres that much hail. and when they cause damage to your room.
Lil Sarah 08-12-2004, 09:50 PM Hurricane Charlie is supposed to hit us tomorrow :o!! I don't have school, so I don't care about a hurricane :p
starlet 08-13-2004, 01:47 AM It rained 66mils of rain in 2 hours...im not sure what that means exactly but i know its a lot because it was all over the news and said that thats the average rainfall for 3 MONTHS!
It really was awesome, we're not used to such extreme weather over here!
weird girl 08-13-2004, 01:53 AM I also get to miss school because of hurricane Charley. Hurrah! I hopefully won't have to evacuate though...
aluminumbanana 08-13-2004, 02:50 AM I live in North Carolina, so everybody was worried that Hurricane Alex would be another Fran or Floyd. It wasn't. Just a bunch of rain.
Now they're saying Charley (Charlie?) is a strong category two hurricane and it'll be coming up the eastern seaboard in a couple of days. Argh. Any time after next Wednesday (first day of school) would be nice, thanks. :)
There was a tornado warning earlier. Strange weather.
Dude128 08-13-2004, 03:36 AM I don't think we got anything yesterday/today, but the other night we got a cool thunderstorm here in New York :P plenty of cool thunder and lightning and lots of rain, and apparently it lasted quite a while (like an hour and a half, maybe a little longer- although I went to bed about 45 minutes into it :P), and my town got some decent rain this morning, but not a storm, and going into the next town over apparently everything was completely dry...
sisqoluv 08-13-2004, 04:24 AM Speaking of storms and such, I believe parts of Florida are being evacuated (sorry, the only news I could get access to was on the radio, and it wasn't very clear); and a storm that passed right through SO Cali caused me to sit without electricity for about 5 hours. We had a heatwave and a lightning storm all at the same time (seriously). Another storm is expected again later tonight, and anytime this week. It may not rain in Cali very much, but when it does
lefty 08-13-2004, 06:07 AM I just put the digital camera in movie mode hoping maybe I'd catch it ;)
I've done that, and I got a pretty cool image from it, too :D
Apparently there is/was a tornado warning here. When do we ever get tornados in NY?
salomeyasobko 08-13-2004, 06:17 AM ahh that picture was scary.. lightening frightens me a lot
hope all's okay there.. there are never very bad [or even mildly bad ] storms here.. so i've never experienced something like that but i can imagine it's scary :hehe:
Dude128 08-13-2004, 06:37 AM When do we ever get tornados in NY?
1995? :P
I think that was when we had a tornado near me. plus a couple years ago we had a really bad thunderstorm, and I'd swear it looked like it was a tornado, although it was never labelled as such... we went driving around and there were loads of trees that were broken off and stuff, but like twisted around, seemed like something a tornado would do.
Makar 08-13-2004, 12:17 PM Wow, awesome photo!
Yeah, I've been hearing about this. I listen to ClassicFM (the awesomest radio station in the world) 24/7 and they're stationed in England, so I'm always up-to-date on everything that's happening over there. Lots of rain...and flooding...
Spirit892 08-13-2004, 02:37 PM I live in PA and it has been raining on and off like nobody's business. It's crazy...
sisqoluv 08-13-2004, 06:11 PM Hmm... Mother nature sounds angry this week.
Lil Sarah 08-13-2004, 06:13 PM LOL my mom and I are jumping around all excited about the hurricane. There's a bunch of people from the coast who have come to where we are because they were asked to evacuate. :p My mom and I are like "OMG THIS IS CHAOS ROFLBBQ" :p We're losers.
lefty 08-13-2004, 06:34 PM 1995? :P

Really? Where was I? :P
Dude128 08-13-2004, 06:46 PM my guess would be your side of the river :P
