Hello,
I was wondering if any of you out there knew of a way to prevent direct linking to images, etc. without the use of an .htaccess file. My webhost, Readyhosting, does not support .htaccess files at this time--at least according to the answer I received when I inquired with tech support after the .htacess file I uploaded didn't work. I was kind of shocked they don't support it, since they're pretty highly rated with CNET, but I digress...
I've done a little websearching, but haven't been able to come up with anything. The only thing I need to do is prevent direct linking make to images and real audio and real video files. Readyhosting has an alternate means of doing custom 404 and passworded directories, but nothing on the direct linking...
If it makes any difference, I can upload and run my own cgi scripts.
Thanks!
