definitly freewebs. I've never used geocities, but I do know that they have a ton of annoying ads. Freewebs generally has no ads..if so its only one small pop up.

This isnt a good comparison since geocities is just a bundle of pop-ups <a mess/> freewebs has less advertisement. Who do you like better Bush or Kerry ? lol...

they both suck. geocites just plain sucks... they only reason people use it is because its from YAHOO. The only reason freeweb gets people is because of their templates.

:rolleyes: Not everyone uses geocities because it comes from yahoo. It didn't start out at yahoo.

I've put up with geocities all I can lol...I use www.lifelesspeople.com. :) You have to be an active member of the forum, but they give you literally anything you need. :) Thanks to CB for refferring me to them :P

Um, I haven't used either of them, but I don't like freewebs on the basis of the fact that alot of people use the templates, making all their sites look the same. I swear, about ten of my friends have freewebs websites, and they all look the same.

i don't particularly love geocities but i am very comfortable with it.

i don't feel like paying a lot (or even a little bit) of money for a hobbie i enjoy.. i'm not going to put money into something unless i'm sure i'm going to benifit from spending money on it..

Their forum is great though! You get all of your questions answered, and round the clock support. And they have tons of categories for posting, so its really not hard to keep active, they really only ask that you have around 50 posts per month.

nope... the only reason I use it is I am a cheap scape and I do not want to pay... go figure :rolleyes:

I'd have to go with GeCities only because Freewebs has a 50 file upload limit... you could always direct link those images from photobucket, but if your site has over 50 pages, and such, then the 50 file limit is a bit of a problem. Freewebs is all right if you have a really small site though.

I've used Geocities, and it's really slow to make a site ad if you're not good, it looks like it was by a beginner.

Freewebs is good for a small site, and it's faster and looks more, well, professional. So I would have to go for Freewebs.
