Yes yes, sorry for bugging you all with such a stupid question...just wondering if it is possible to change my LEIA username? The reason for this would be to change it to match my pen name and email address, simply because I am a geek and cannot stand things that dont match :P

:( ::sigh:: the "queen" name annoys me..... I'd hate to lose all my pretty posts though.......but perhaps I should put all of that behind me and start out fresh?.....just a thought......is that allowed...making a new account and just not using your other one?

Monkey Bizzle

You also can't have more than one username ;)

I dont think they can do it even if you had your previous IP.

But that doesnt make sense...what if one were to make an account, and then forget all about it, and re-discover the site...oh lets say, 3 or 4 years later? Surely they wouldnt be denied simply because they'd forgotten their old name and password?

We're not, like, monitoring the forum 24/7 for people that had an account 3 years ago and made a new one now. If we notice, the new account will be locked.

it's probably possible, but your not supposed to. That's the way lots of things are. Like you can sign up, but if they know it's the same person you're in trouble. So it wouldn't work, because we'd all know who you are.

EDIT: oops, slow computer. Anywho, looks like I was right.

Oh. :(

K, sorry I bothered you...I don't suppose it would be a good idea to ask lissa about it? Not trying to be a nuisance(sp?)...just hate this name greatly.

If she did it for one person, she'd have to do it for everyone else... not fair that you get to change yours while the other people who also don't like their names don't get to change it ;)

Shirl
08-07-2004, 05:13 AM
Not change it...just get rid of it....but I don't think thats possible.

Ive seen people change their names before but it was on an older version of VB.

lefty
08-07-2004, 05:23 AM
It's possible, but Lissa doesn't allow it.

Shirl
08-07-2004, 05:23 AM
Yeah...another forum I go to allows it, but only 1 name change per account...if you dont like your name after that, they wont change it again and you have to start over....but I guess Lissa has different settings.

*patpat* Aw but that's ok Elfy, we know you didn't mean anything O.o :)

I'm idea-less of what name I'd choose...I'm always in a dilemma when I'm signing up at a forum or anything what name to choose :P I don't have a particular nick to use everywhere. Therefore, I'm quite uhh, happy with adrielle lol. Though I wish I had some other name.........:P

I have my name from an inside joke involving a pair of camouflage pants at the mall. Yeah, my friends were dressing me like a barbie doll, ya know picking out clothes and stuff, and they happened to know I like camouflage, and I come out with some jeans and a shirt they picked out on and they have one last outfit...a pair of camouflage pants and a camouflage shirt, and for some reason they have mischeivous grins. So I go and put them on, but then I realize something. In the mirror while glancing at my backside, I see red lettering. Upon closer inspection it says Combat Babe. I then scream (I would so have never worn it then) and hunt them down, finding them at the front of the store hiding behind the jeans. Thus I am CB. Sad thing is, we had this football thing coming up with the two high schools, and part of the name is wars, because they use the same football feild and such, and when I went back they didn't have the pants left. I like them now, and wish they would get them in again.

I have another name online that I use on fanfiction, HappyHyperBunnyLover. Yeah, I'm usually happy and/or hyper, and I went through a bunny fetish. So, I don't have much trouble finding a name.

<off-topic> if i could change mine, i'd probably make it either salomander/sallymander/salomeya.. or possibly ishmaelboteach or mcgeorgebundy.</off-topic>

If I changed my name, it would probably be something conceited like "Margaret is cool" or something like that. :P
At one forum my username is ":P" (w/o the quotes of course)

just out of curiosity, Queen of Wise, what username did you have when you signed up a couple of years ago?

Ravie

If one person was allowed changes their name, then everyone else would have to have that right too. This would be chaotic. I know I was a mod on a forum that allowed this.

How about deleting a user name?? Can that be done? I mean there must be masses of accounts that aren't really used or people forgot about. I remember I signed up once a while a go but i forgot both my user name and password and I had changed my email (I used to have aol) Since I couldn't read the rules I just signed up again. I don't see how it matters since it's quite obvious that last account is innactive. It was about a year ago.

I think deleteing usernames should be allowed. If you wanna give up your post count and avatar etc.

Anything can be done, thats easy, its matter of actually doing it. If one person gets it done, everyone will want to, and there is 20000+ members here im not even sure these days i havent looked. It would just be too much of a hassle for Lissa, easy as that. Frankly I am perfectly happy with this :P.

For the 100th time.....

- Usernames CANNOT be changed!

- You may NOT have more than one username!

- And Lissa will NOT delete usernames!

....If Lissa does it for one person, she'll have to do it for everyone.

well, if it makes you feel any better, i don't think you are being annoying... it's not like you are whining about it or anything like a noob... you inquired, and then discussed... =P

I got my screen name quite a while ago, but I still like it :D lol, it's an inside joke. You see, I had my favorite teacher at school in grade four. I was one of the shortest in my class -_- so she started calling me Munchkin because I was so short. Then, eventually, I became the "original" Munchkin. I had her in grade six too. I quite like it.

I dunno, I like your name, Queen of Wise. It sort of reflects how you're smart or say you're smart anyway, and the Knowledge Rocker right under it just makes it sound cooler...

I like my name, even if I'm not an LP fan (but I am so it makes it better)...xero was Linkin park's old name. It's short yet unique...

Glances at username... Mines literaly a mistake! Die username!!! I even thought about getting a new account and never using *mumbles current username*. In case you don't know the story of my mistaken username here it goes:

About a year ago I was working on my website. Then my mom showed me LEIA. She also told me that there was a forum. I wasn't very interested in the forum at first but then I asked my mom if she could sign me up. About a few minutes later she said my username was going to be Magln. I had tons of usernames named Magln which were okay and I agreed. But she made a mistake by not typing my e-mail adress correctly. So she tires again and puts a 2 after it. I hate numbers after usernames and mainly 2's! They make me feel unspecial. So not even the 'm' capped I sticked with magln2 for a cursed year hating and hating it more. I didn't mind it so much at first but now it's annoying.

Yeah it would be pretty chaotic. Not knowing who anyone was anymore. Yikes!

I mean, I wish I had signed up with the name Melic or Melicbot or something, but that was before I got my website. I thank myself to this day for not signing up under "GloveyDovey" (my old netname) though. *winces*

Yes, I always say to myself, things could be worse. If I had signed up at LEIA a couple months sooner, I'd be angie93. ::cringe::
