punkinardo 08-06-2004, 09:47 PM i dont know any places that would really be interesting in san jose to either eat at or visit.
westernrider 08-06-2004, 09:48 PM They don;t have to be interesting... maybe just things that were opened in San Jose... because I bet almost all of us have gone to a McDonalds (because I personally think they are trying to take over the world)... so sometimes it is fun to try new things in new towns :P
LesPaul59 08-06-2004, 09:52 PM I live in the middle of nowhere but here is a [shameless :P] plug. GO EAT AT THE VILLAGE CAFE, OWNED AND OPERATED [and have your food cooked by] MY DAD!
salomeyasobko 08-06-2004, 10:00 PM hmmn.. inn&out is a very good burger place [they only have it in california, i believe].. all it sells is (cheese)burgers, fries, shakes, drinks, and double doubles. oh man, it's soo good... they use thousand islands-like sauce in their hamburgers/cheeseburgers and.. whoo it's tasty. *is hungry* :P
they have lotsa special things you learn by going there often, so if you go, ask for your burger "animal style".. unless you don't like pickles of course.. you can also get your fries "animal style", which my sister said is very good, but i've never tried it.
i don't really know of any other california/san diego exclusive places.. well, in downtown, there is this amazing [yet amazingly expensive] dessert place called "extraordinary desserts" and it sells slices of cake for like 8-12+ dollars each.. but it's always extremely delicious, no matter what you get, and it's very "chic" inside. i would definately suggest trying that place out, if you're out in downtown/ at the gas lamp for the evening.
punkinardo 08-06-2004, 10:00 PM hahah i think that way too! i noe all the mcdonalds in san jose cuz im such a mcdonalds freak. well truthfully i only know asian places.

minh's resturant

lee's sandwitch
o god i cant think, san jose is too big...ill get back to this later when i gain back some of mu brain cells =D

@ sal: !!!!!!!! in&out.. jeez.. now i want a burger... i ate in&out n AZ, i want one :( they have in&out n CA, NV, and AZ ;)
salomeyasobko 08-06-2004, 10:07 PM ooh if you go to san francisco, go to "betelnut".. it's an asian restaurant.. it's very good!
and if you go to LA (santa monica specifically), go to chinois.. it's on main street.. it was made by wolfgang puck's ex-wife and it's verrry delicious. it's really expensive though.. it's one of those 4-star restraurants..
also, in LA, try jiraffe.. it's also really expensive but if you/your family wants to go to a very nice restaurant during your stay, it's great for that..
and if you go to mauia, the bubba gump, very expensive as well, is probably the best place i've ever eaten in my LIFE.. apart from this nice restaurant in paris where i had duck with cherry sauce... anyway, this place has the most amazing seafood and it's weird, it doesn't even taste like fish! seriously! yummm times a billion :D
and also in maui, make sure you go to cheeseburger in paradise! i know they have it on a few other islands, but the one in maui is the original one and it's the best. the hamburgers/cheeseburgers/everything is soo delicious.
EDIT: ooh they have inn&out in other places too? i guess they're expanding :confusion  I WANT SOME TOO!!! :'(

by the way
:P
jazzberry 08-06-2004, 10:12 PM I live in "south western ontario" lol and there's this diner that my friends and I love, called Hi-Lunch.
And then there's an Indian restaurant downtown called Curry Gardens, it's really good :)
ham_let 08-06-2004, 10:26 PM south western.. so like... sarnia? iunno.. ahaha... maybe i';ll vist s-w ontario one day... xcept we go to midland a lot.. the shrine u know... and i think wasaga beach is there... that beach is so overrated... =P
going to orlando in a few weeks, any suggestions ppl?
!!! indian food =) reminded me of roti. *drools* yea, but we don't usually go to indian restaurants, we got o a malaysian restaurant with roti... *drools* yea, it's called satay ria.... they have satay, roti, tom yum, everything that's good in indo-malay cuisine... *drools* oh, and for west indian food, there are tons of roti/jerk chicken places i go to... roti i just generally really good so any restaurant with roti is fine by me... aah, and for the best chicken rice, go to sinopino...
Ravie 08-06-2004, 10:37 PM Yep! They have In & Out burgers in Arizona :P I like those burgers, but not very much.
Dude128 08-07-2004, 02:50 AM I can't think of anything decent in my area that's not part of a national chain :P
but if anyone goes to New York City, you must visit Tom's Restaurant at Broadway and (I believe) 112th Street (or it could be West 112th Street... whatever). it's basically diner food, but it's the place they show the exterior of on Seinfeld, so it's just kind of neat :P
weird girl 08-07-2004, 02:54 AM My city's downtown area has got some awesome shops and restaurants... most are a bit pricey though.... :/
AiJahya 08-07-2004, 02:55 AM I don't really reccomend coming to Selma (unless you're really into civil rights stuff). But we do have five museums and the Edmund Pettus Bridge (it's JUST A BRIDGE!). The March to Montgomery stuff is there... There's the historic district. About 5 miles down the road is Old Cahawba, the old state capitol. Hey, then there's always Wal*Mart. ;)
4sight 08-07-2004, 03:20 AM Well..... I sort of live in a dining mecca here in Scottsdale and there are alot of high end reataurants. But mainly in Arizona (being sowthwest) its all about steak. My favorite seafood place though...yumm.. is the Salt Cellar. This place is really cool and its all underground. The best thing is, the waiters crack the crab shells for you - Which is good because Im always the one who cracks the shell and fly's across the room. I havent hit anyone yet but if you ever get hit with a crab shell at a restaurant. Im the guy with the crab juice in his eye ....:buckt:.
Steak-My favorite steak is place is Claim Jumper because there is really nothing that isnt franchised here like Dan said. But Claim Jumper's dishes are HUGE and my dog gets lots of scraps.
Also in Old town Scottsdale is Malee's on Main. Which is a famous thai cuisine, havent been there yet, and never really had authentic Thai food. But im willing to try just about anything.
They really dont have many great pizza places here, but it is my favorite food. So I go to whatever is closest to my mouth. But the best one IMO is Spinatos.
Now if you would excuse me, im about to eat this roll of quarters sitting in front of me. *prays I make it to the fridge*
kittycat 08-07-2004, 03:34 AM My area is boring, I can't even think of a reason why people would even come here now that the big music festival thing is no longer being held in my town... Unless they like beef. Ha, I am so proud to live in beef country where people also drink gravy (ew.)
Practically the only time any restaurant is 'busy' is Thursday nights at the "hotel" restaurants, because Thursday night is wing night :P Adults that want to eat good food go 30 minutes away to the Erie Bell. Or Gilley's Bar & Grill. I can't remember which.
Other than that, we've got lots of pizza places and a Tim Hortens.
lefty 08-07-2004, 05:21 AM I can't think of anything decent in my area that's not part of a national chain :P
That's what I was thinking.
We do have Joey's Pizza, which has the best specialty pizzas ever. They're ultra oily, but I love their eggplant & ricotta cheese pizza. ::drools::
Our best chinese food place is Hawaii Fountain, but maybe I'm just biased because we've been going there for 22 years and know the owners :P
westernrider 08-07-2004, 07:07 PM Ooo... I almost forgot... Taco Shack... it has the best breakfast tacos ever... and it really is a shack :P there is only room for 4 cars in the parking lot and only about 7 people can fit inside it at once :P
