In her Fun Stuff category I think, Lissa has an effect that if you click the mouse hearts explode from your cursor. I abosolutely love it and it's just in time for Valentine's Day but I use geocities and she has it in the form to insert it into your <head> tags and such and I was wondering if there was just a simple html code to use for it. If there is could you post it or email me either one. I'd really really appreciate it. Thanks so much. Blessed be

No youll have to use that code if you want to do it, whats the problem with it though? It'll work fine on geocities...

Well on geocities I went in and clicked on insert a HTML code and i didn't know which one of those to copy and paste into the box. Because she had 3 boxes to put in and I don't use FTP or anything like that. I use the pagebuilder??

Oh ok...just use the advanced editor instead of pagebuilder and itll work fine, when you login just go to file manager and make sure 'advanced' is selected rather than 'basic' in the drop down box (i think thats how it works, its been a while since i logged into geocities)

It is selected. But see where she has the code there are three different boxes. One to insert into the <head> tags and 2 to insert into the <body> tags. Seeing as I'm terrible at html and things like that I just simply use pagebuilder. Then I click insert, html code and I just was trying to find a way to insert one or all of those into the html editor. Which one would I enter or will it work if I enter it? I entered all 3 and that didn't work so I'm stuck now?

Listen, I understand. When I first started using HTML, I was confused too. I also use geocities and started with Pagenbuilder. Once you get the hang of it, it's not so bad. I'll walk you through it step by step.

1) Login into Geocities

2)Look to your top right. There is a box(table) saying advanced toolbox.

3)Click on HTML editor

4) now you get a document like this, right?

<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN">

<html>
<head>

<title>Yahoo! GeoCities</title>
<style type="text/css"><!--
.whBtn {
background-color: BCD8FA;
color: 000000;
font-size: 9pt;
font-family: arial;
}
--></style>

</head>

<body>

</body>
</html>

5) Now you can start editing!

6) See the <head> codes? Insert your code right into those or right after depending on Lissa's directions.

7) Now check the <body> codes. Insert your HTML into that.

8) Now, continue until it says stop.

9) Preview the file.

10)Save your file and give it a name!

11) You're done!

Thank you so very very much. I'm right now working on getting my own domain or getting hosted by someone because geocities.com is just getting on my nerves so bad. lol It's great for kids like me who just want a fun page and stuff but I'm working on majoring in Website Designing, so if anyone could refer me to someone who might host me or some really nice places where I could get my own domain I'd greatly appreciate it!!
