I'm sure I'm going to sound really stupid right now, but there's a huge bug in the room, and I hate them! Everytime they come near me, my nose gets red and itchy... I'm not over-exaggerating about the size, the bug is about three inches long (I estimated its length while I was trying to figure out what to catch it with). My grandma was here about an hour ago, so I think it snuck in one of the few times we went in and out the door... I'm home alone and the rest of my family won't be back until later tonight... It's five feet away from the computer, under a big cup from a fast food restaurant and a heavy object I used to hold the cup down. I was planning on sliding something flat under the cup so I could carry it outside, but it's... Well, angry, lol. It's hitting the cup a lot, and I'm honestly afraid to touch it.

I was going to spray it with bug spray, but I'm afraid it'll hide where I can't find it, die, and one of my cats will eat it and get sick. Speaking of cats, one of them sat there and watched the whole time, lol. I called her over when I saw it from a distance, but ceased when I noticed how big it was (I wasn't sure if it was something that would bite/sting). Now, that I have it trapped, she wants it, lol. The bad thing about this cat is, she likes to play with things before she gets rid of them... My mom told me about the mouse she was trying to push out with a broom and this cat kept batting it back at her, lol. This cat has even brought a mouse from across the street to my feet to play with while I read in the front yard... I don't feel like having this flying thing batted at me.

Yeah, I look stupid right now, but I feel better after talking about it... Sorta...

Your post made me laugh though I know what you mean. You know potato bugs? They look like giant ants but their butts have a bee-like pattern? There was one of those in our garage one day and it freaked out me, my little sister and my mom. None of us wanted to touch it. It was so gross.
It's kind funny though, considering how much bigger humans are than bugs, that we're all freaked out by them. My advice is to wait until your dad or brother or someone gets home and make them do it. Killing bugs is mans work!

 The only person who'd kill it is my mom. The guy next door is afraid of bugs, too. His kids were outside screaming one day and he ran out to see what was going on. He got close to it, screamed, and yelled for the kids to get in the house, lol.

 I had a bug flying around my kitchen light yesterday, and while it wasn't as large as the bug you saw, it was probably about an inch.
My main fear is that the bug will bite me. If I don't know what it is, I don't touch it. :P

don't worry, i feel yur pain.. lol

lol, i get my parents to do it. i don't care, i'm a guy who's freaked out by bugs that makes a nasty sound when you crush them.

ants: ok, just get the slippers, or for extra fun, catch them and torcher them...
mosquitoes: meh, annoying tho
flies: hate them
spiders: hate them

there was this huge fly in my room yesterday.. creepy encounter... it first 'attacked' my older brother, and he said it was as big as his fist.lol, i didn't believe him, so i just went back to my pc... 5 minutes later, i hear a buzzing noise and this huge black thing come straight at me. it looked like a fly with the rear-end of a bumblebee... creepy... it made the most annoying sound. it flew right past my face as i was on LEIA forums, and i jumped of my chair and shouted... ahahaha... it was as big as a marble... had to get my mom to kill it... =/ she had to whack it 3 times... then 15 minutes later i found a huge moth behind my portable heater... =/ how do they get in!?!? >=(

cool bugs i've seen: a praying mantis that was neon green just staring at my garage door.. i stared at it for a while.. it looked so cool... and then i saw a huge mosquito (like huge) on my storm door... the bug itself was tiny but the legs were huge... at least 4 inches each leg... i'm not kidding... i'm pretty sure it looked like a mosquito. i didnt dare open the door... i banged on it until it left... maybe it was a walking stick.. but it's canada for goodness sake we don't have those!

bad bugs i've seen: in the philippines when i was tree or something a huge cockroach was in my grandma's bathroom... i made this really really loud scream *i was a kid, i could still do that and not look girly* it hissed back... i ran... lol. i'd say, err...2 inches wide n 3-4 inches long... creepy... the fact that it was... *wide* any unfriendly bugthat doesn't look all thin is BAD...

yeah sry.. just wanted to get out my bug stories now instead of in fragments.. i have a really scary spider story, but i'll get to that later...

That Phillipine bug sounds kina like the one that was here. Well, I kept it trapped for hours (I felt kinda bad, but it had air). As soon as my family pulled up, I asked my mom to kill it. She asked where it was, and I explained what happened as she laughed, lol. She thought I was blowing things out of proportion, but when she slide a piece of card board under the cup (to carry it out with), that's when it started acting crazy again. She didn't expect it to be so heavy or kick so hard... By my mama got rid of it and didn't even look at it (since we didn't know what it was), so I can sleep now ;)

Ants aren't so bad if there's just one or two there. However, when they're in a HUGE group it's not fun. Since I live in SO Cali, HUGE GROUPS of them usually come out right after it rains a bit... Not fun!

Flies don't really scare me, they just annoy me. I find them disgusting. The only time I jump is when they're those huge ones. Yucky!

Spiders? Nope! You (well, I) can never be too sure if it's safe or not, and I don't want to risk it.

The prettiest bug I spotted was a june bug in my grandma's back yard. It was bright green with a few lighter colors on it. Plus, it didn't come near me, so that made it cooler.

Just a few days ago a bug kept going after one of my brothers. I was in my room, but it chased him from the back yard, to the front, and all over the yard. And just a month ago, that some brother of mine felt something on the back of his neck and just grabbed and threw it off. He didn't know it was a bug or anything until after he touched it, but no one could figure out what it was. Luckily for him, it didn't attack him.

i have minor arachnophobia [it's minor bc i've started to get over it, by force :hehe:], but i'm only afraid of big spiders, not little ones. and mainly just when i notice them all of a sudden and get surprised :P

i don't like bugs too.. like beatles and cockroaches and stuff. i sorta like worms though, for some reason. not big fat ones, but the little pink ones i sometimes see when gardening. heee they're so.. cool.

LOL!

I can't bring myself to kill harmless insects. I usually find them a home. Haha. When it's something scary, I smack the living day lights out of it with something heavy.

I HATE spiders!!! There are a lot of them in our apartment building cause it is so old. I mean it's not like arachnophobia the movie or anything but i kill at least 3 or 4 in a week... it gets to the point that i watch the floor when i walk around so i don't step on one and i keep my feet propped up when i am at the desk so that one won't crawl on me!! I hate them so much that one time we were walking thru the woods and i walked thru a HUGE spider web and I didn't see the spider still on the web so ithought it was on me and I started freaking out. I took off my shirt and pants right there in front of everyone without hesitation and started jumping up and down and shaking my arms and stuff so that if it was on me it would get off...

I hate taking a shower and realizing that there is a spider in there. Because most of the times you either have shampoo in your hair, or have nothing to kill it with. Haha. I hate bugs.

I have arachnophobia...pretty strong too, because I freak out at even the tiny little spiders. :buckt: But for most bugs I just hate them..mosquites are the bane of my existance. It's funny though, I love bumblebees XD And usually I hate wasps and fry them with my electric bug zapper, but once I saw a wasp on my kitchen floor, crawling around. It couldn't fly or something, and my normal urge was to zap it. But for some reason, I felt sorry for the wasp and put him outside.

Ahah, i'm weird. :hehe:

I try to let things out whenever I can, but if it bugs/scares me too much, my first reaction is to kill it or get someone to do it, lol. Usually, the only bug/insect that I bring outside are moths.

something strange with my room, spiders just keep coming into it. so the solution suprised me because i bought these pair of flip flops and ended up using it as a weapon against the spiders. so far ive killed about 7 spiders in 2 months. something like tat.

**steps on cockroach**... Ahhh... babies!

I always step on them

In Texas they are huge because we have tree cockroaches... I woke up one night with it on my chin... I could have died :P

ahaha i have a spider story that i was too lazy to type last time... PLZ READ it's too funny.

ok. i was in grade 7 i think? or 6.. neways... so i'm walking home, i'm on my front steps and we see this small spider web.. but not like cobwebs, it was quite well constructed.. anyways, being mean, i ruined it =P (you'll find out why i sort of believe in karma later) ok, no, it's g2 be grade 6, my bro was'nt in highschool when the story takes place... yea, so neways, we see this sac like maybe, as big as a grape, and it's grey. my brother wonder's what it is, so is pokes is *sighs* then the story really begins. the sac bursts and out come these tiny baby spiders (like small ants with a spidery shape) my bro and i run away. i run towards the driveway where i can have more spaceto run, but i look behind me and there are strands of web attached to by back and tiny spiders are travelling on it towards me back... OMG!! i was a 12 yr old boy and i was screaming! ahahaha. i was swearing a bit too but w/e i wa screaming for my brother to pour water on it, but he took SOOOOOOOO long. the spiders creep closer and closer, i'm talking about a hundred of them... it was scary.. then i turn around and wipe the webs off my back n roll in the grass to ensure there were no spiders still on me. then i ran inside and changed my clothes and took a shower too to wash away any left over spiders... if they were still there... =( it could possibly be the scariest moment in my entire life. then the next day, cooly, i ask my friend who lives on the same street, "Did you hear some kid screaming after you cam home from school?", she said yess and i quickly ran away.
