Um...hi.

I was trying to work with Lissa's hover code, and it's just not working for me. If you go to my website, there's this gray box thingy. Before I decided to ask about it, I checked all the old threads, and it didn't seem like anyone answered this question before.

Anyway, this is the code I used:

<applet code="fphover.class" codebase="../_fpclass/" width="125" height="30">
<param name="text" value="Home">
<param name="color" value="#ff00ff">
<param name="hovercolor" value="#966ff">
<param name="textcolor" value="#ffff00">
<param name="effect" value="glow">
<param name="url" value="http://www.lissaexplains.com" valuetype="ref">
<param name="font" value="arial">
<param name="fontstyle" value="bold">
<param name="fontsize" value="18">
</applet>

I haven't editted anything yet because this isn't the first time I've tried hover buttons and been unsuccessful, so I wanted to do a test run. In any case, all I get is a gray box, and the status bar says 'load: class fphover not found'.

I uploaded the hover files onto my server and put them in the neccessary folder (_fpclass). However, it still doesn't seem to work. What could possible be the problem? I'm thinking maybe I unzipped them wrong? I'm not sure because I'm not a frequent user of WinZip. But it's not working for me, and I was hoping some of you would be able to help me. ^_^ Thanks for your time; I know this was kinda long post, lol.

are you trying to view the page in Netscape? The instructions say it only works in Internet Explorer.

thats the one thing I can think of..the instructions say something about uploading the files unopened, I'm not exactly sure what that means, but did you do that?

I would suggest re-reading the instructions and making sure you did everything properly, and maybe try uploading the files again

Hello. It's me again, lol. I figured out why it didn't work! See, it didn't have enough of a codebase to work off of. After 2 hours of tinkering with the thing (as in repeatative redownloads and uploads, renaming the file...all SORTS of stuff...) I tried putting in the whole url, and it's working wonderfully. :D I'm soooooo happy it finally worked! Thanks for trying to help anyway, lol. ^_^ I LOVE HTML! :D
