how do u make a table semi-transparent WITHOUT affecting the text???? is this even possible?

If you have an image behind it then no, but if you have a colour background then a slight variation in the coulor of the table in comparison to the background maty give the effect. Now, help me with my .::Borders::.

if you have an image background, just open the image in a graphics program and adjust the opacity.

if you adjust the opacity of the table's bakground, it will make it appear semi-transparent.

what file should i save it as (jpg/gif/png) coz ive tried doing that with .gif but it didnt work n i dont think jpg allows transparacy so wat do i save it as.....

.gif should work, I'm not sure why it didn't for you.

I would try .png because I know that they support partial transparency.

I know Adobe Photoshop can be a pain with GIF files, so if that was what you were using - I know. And JPGs allow transparency when I use them...
