I have a forum at Spaceports and want to move to Coolfreepages (which hasd no ads and less problems). Only thing is, how do i do it?? Thanks

copy the files from your spacesports account to your computer, and then upload them again to your new host.

oh i see what ur saying, but how would i save them to my comp? Thats possible? lol im lost

You have two options to do this, and i believe you have to usethe second one:

1. you can ftp them to your own computer, but if you use a 'filemanager' kinda thing (like on geocities.com) then you can't

2. open every page up and click "view source" and then save that file on your computer (the source file) like you have to save it (as .php or .html or whatever it is)

If you can't open every file (like some files only have to be there to make it work, they don't get to be viewed online) you have to get that forum again and install those files again.

just to let you know, viewing the source will not work, because you would not have all the server side code, and those pages are most likely all created from a database, which you would have to backup.

the easiest way is to use the backup feature from the forum, if it has one- I'm pretty sure some do. if you can't do that, it may not be possible to move it unless you have some way of backing up the database, such as through a control panel of some sort.

I believe phpBB forums have the "back-up database" feature. Which is located in the Admin Panel, if you're not using phpBB, ignore me.
