View Full Version : Spider-man 2
Rosekeet 07-10-2004, 02:17 AM I just got back from seeing the movie and here is Rosekeets review:
excellent for the genre, very good in general but very, very easy to mock. It was weird... My friend and I were watching and making all these wise-cracks even though we both really liked it. Probably just the genre and the cartoonish aspect. The best part was (don't worry, it doesn't spoil anything, it's in the trailers on TV) when Mary Jane was kissing her fiance this little girl sitting behind me goes really loudly "They're FRENCH kissing!" It was hilarious. But don't get me wrong it was really good. Doc Ock is one of the coolest super villians EVER. He rocked. Spidey did too of course.
So, anybody else seen it? What did you think
StarryIlove 07-10-2004, 02:45 PM It's not out yet here. But you have to expect a bit of laughability since it has been based on a cartoon! I liked the first one it was really good. The last film I saw was Harry Potter. That was brilliant but its the 4th and 5th films i'm really looking forward to.
lefty 07-10-2004, 11:53 PM I'm still waiting for someone to go see Spiderman 2 with. ::taps foot::
Lil Sarah 07-10-2004, 11:57 PM I'll go with you!! Hehe :) I saw it with the fam, and it was amazing! I loved the love story tied in with it this time. :) It was absolutely fabulous, and I would go and see it again!! lefty, you HAVE to go see it! You'll love it, I think!
strippedtoesox 07-11-2004, 12:01 AM Ughh I saw both 1 and 2 and like the first one ALOT more then the 2nd one the second one was so dramatic and kristen dunst looked really bad...I'm guessing there's even going to be a third one since no one knows if harry is going to be evil or not :(
sebluver 07-11-2004, 01:18 AM I'm still waiting for someone to go see Spiderman 2 with. ::taps foot::
I'm still waiting to see Shrek 2! The last movie I saw in theatres was HP3, I'm not very current.
I have to see Spiderman 2. I saw only snippets of the first whilst my parents watched it (hey, I got extra credit if I made a model for US History), but it was good. According to the 10 or so 5-minute clips.
weird girl 07-11-2004, 01:22 AM I'm going to see it this Sunday I think. :D
lefty 07-11-2004, 01:28 AM I'm still waiting to see Shrek 2! The last movie I saw in theatres was HP3, I'm not very current
I haven't seen Shrek 2, either ::pouts::
Last movie I saw in a theatre was... Ladykillers. But that doesn't count, because it was at the discount theatre. :P
strippedtoesox 07-11-2004, 01:34 AM  I love discount theatres XD  aww leave my discount theatre alone*hugs theatre* It's ok I still love you :flower:
lefty 07-11-2004, 01:38 AM Hey, I work at the discount theatre :P
Lil Sarah 07-11-2004, 01:55 AM lol, I haven't seen Shrek 2 either! I'm not up with the times, yo.
xstaticxpallorx 07-11-2004, 01:56 AM Just saw Spiderman 2 last night. 'Twas good. Toby McGuire is awesome. I heart him.
kittycat 07-11-2004, 03:47 AM I'll wait until it comes out at the drive-in to go, theatre is more expensive and not as much fun (ie no room to play frisbee with random pieces of car equipment and it's harder to sneak people in). And if I don't happen to catch it then, I'll wait until it comes on the movie channels like a year from now :P

Aw..we don't have drive-ins around here. I'm jealous.
JustOneSyllable 07-11-2004, 02:56 PM I really enjoyed the second one. I've heard they've signed on for 4 more projects of 'Spiderman'. The sequel may have been more dramatic because they needed to clear everything up and make the Peter/MJ relationship dramatical, plus the friendship between Harry and Peter with his father being killed and all.
*Spoilers* Basically because of the ending when Peter and MJ hooked-up and she found out Peter was spiderman, and she made it work. They're suppose to get married or something and she could probably be his sidekick or something.
StarryIlove 07-11-2004, 03:22 PM Whats a discount theater?
lefty 07-11-2004, 04:59 PM It's a movie theatre that shows films for a cheaper price. ;) They're usually second-run theatres, meaning once the movies leave the bigger theatres, the discount place is able to show them.
StarryIlove 07-11-2004, 06:00 PM COOL! why don't they have those here!!
But then again we get discounts at my local cinema on wednesday and thursday. half price
lefty 07-12-2004, 12:29 AM Neat :) that's not a bad deal. We have "2 for 1 Thursday" at my theatre; two people can come see a movie for $2.50 ;)
weird girl 07-12-2004, 12:48 AM Not fair! :( I have absolutely nothing like that in my area! :(
chibi_tenshi 07-12-2004, 01:03 AM wow, discount theatres sound cool...*goes searching for them all over toronto* ...does anyone know of any in TO anyways? haha...
i just watched spider-man 2 last friday with a friend...i'm not a fan of the comics, and i thought the first one was kinda lame, but the second one was SO COOL. kinda mushy mushier, but it's all good :)
...still waiting to see shrek 2..haha. and i wanted to watch troy (orlando bloom...*drool*), but everyone said it was bad, and orlando bloom played some really cowardy dude or something...>_< any more insights?
sebluver 07-12-2004, 01:43 AM I saw the end of Spiderman 2. I was seeing Anchorman, and it was over about 25 minutes before Spiderman 2 was, so I went in to see the end of it (my parents were watching it). I know that's probably the worst thing to do, go in and see a movie's end without seeing
A) The first movie
B) The rest of the second movie
but I don't really care too much.
Haha, but Anchorman made me laugh so much. And another movie I can't wait to see is The Village, which hopefully will be shown in the Block Island movie theatre. I'm talking about the cute old one in the center of town, which only shows one movie a night. It's so great, they have a guy playing piano and doing magic tricks before the movie starts.
westernrider 07-12-2004, 03:22 PM it was so funny. I went to the midnight showing of Spiderman and you know the girl who is real real REAL skinny that is the daughter of the man who owns the apartments spider man lives in (wow that is long). Well there is this part where it shows her face up close and you can see this big mole like thing. Right at that part a guy way down in front shouted out
"EWWWWWWWWWWWWWW... WHAT IS THAT?!?!?!"
I started cracking up... it was the best.
chibi_tenshi 07-12-2004, 05:18 PM Yeah, when I got to that part, the entire theatre started cracking up. Rather annoying, cause I had a theatre full of day camp kids or something and they just kept talking and laughing and whooping throughout the entire movie. >:(
evil_styrofoam 07-12-2004, 05:49 PM Hehe Im gonna see Spiderman 2 today! *dances* we never had time to see it but now we do!! The commercial for the movie is cool too:
Man: Cool Spidey outfit
*rock music and awesome action scenes*
Spidey: Yeah, sometimes it gives me a wedge...
Man: *looks at spidey*
Hehehe... :D
I so want to see spiderman 2, so awesome, can't wait, but i got to wait for my friends to come back from cottages, and camp and other stuff that im not doing :(
I haven't seen Shrek 2, either ::pouts::
Last movie I saw in a theatre was... Ladykillers. But that doesn't count, because it was at the discount theatre. :P
don't worry i haven't seen Shrek 2 either, i so want to too, i told my friend about it in march before it had even come out and before most people knew, and i was like we have to go see it, and she said we'd go together, guess what i'm still waiting :(
salomeyasobko 07-12-2004, 09:24 PM i haven't seen shrek, spiderman, anchorman, dodgeball,.. well the list goes on so i think it's safe to say i haven't seen anything  except i saw harry potter, the terminal, the day after tomorrow, and then i was going to see fahrenheit 9-11 on my mommy's bday last thursday but i didn't feel too good so i am goingto see that soon :D
weird girl 07-12-2004, 10:20 PM Whee! I just saw it today. It was indeed a very good movie. A bit too sappy at parts (I dislike sap :P), but still very good. :D
Little Hushy 07-13-2004, 03:38 AM That movie Was the best!!! :cheer2: I Think the second one is better than the first! The Spiderman2 video game is cool too!!! :D You can go any where around the city and swing around on webs! Its so much fun, I stayed up all night playing it! "Must- beat- game!!!!"
