Be yourself
Chris 07-05-2004, 11:39 AM I'm lucky - nobody has ever said that to me. They just want me to do my best and if my best isn't as good as someone else, then who cares?
Thanks
Chris
evil_styrofoam 07-05-2004, 04:59 PM Being yourself is a very good virtue. Heck, I`m being myself and people are starting to copy whatever I do... It`s weird... Anyway, I just try to do my best and if i don`t succeed, then I`ll try again.
weird girl 07-05-2004, 06:20 PM It is good to be yourself :D Unless being yourself means breaking the law, breaking rules, being a pest, etc. :P
-=[Lauren]=- 07-05-2004, 09:54 PM Indeed it is.
*stellar. 07-06-2004, 05:18 PM if somebody says that to me.. especially my family, i usually ignore them or yell back at them with some hurtful remark :)
lol
im a big one for revenge
:waving: byebye
:rose: *st3llaR* :cloud:
strippedtoesox 07-06-2004, 06:05 PM Oh boy if someone said that to me I wouldn't take it very well
MUHAHAHAHAHAHAHA  being yourself should be good enough for everone and if its not who cares about them? :cloud:
Shirl 07-06-2004, 06:12 PM Ah, I used to care what people thought of me, but now it doesnt matter, Im me, and Ill only be me, i wont change for anyone but myself, and I dont care how others perceive me. I have a saying, feel free to fill in the blank with your favorite bad word:) "You see me? You dont like me? **** OFF!" :) It works well on school bullies:)
lefty 07-06-2004, 07:26 PM Once my parents used that "why can't you be more like your sister," thing, and I blew up. "I'm not my sister, don't compare us," etc etc. They felt really bad after that. (Especially considering my sister is younger than I.)
I just do what I want, there's nothing wrong with it, and if someone has a problem with it then forget them.
Shirl 07-06-2004, 07:29 PM ^yep, im the only girl and I've got three brothers, 2 older and 1 younger. Needless to say, i know I will never hear "Why cant you be more like your older brother?" hehehe because one is a convicted felon(he has betterd his life since then though) and one is a pothead:)
weird girl 07-06-2004, 07:43 PM I'm an only child. :D
My parents usually tell me they're proud of me and such most of the time. :)
Yeah,.. that's right... ****off! That is so cool..but frankly, i just keep everything to myself and move on....just don't know and don't care...like Kuzco....ha...ha...
Go,Go Girl...
salomeyasobko 07-08-2004, 09:18 AM that happened to me before.. i got very sad because what the person said was hurtful. but other than that instance, when someone says a comment like that to me, i don't care.. because everyone has their own strengths and weaknesses. and although i think everyone should try to improve their weaknesses, they should not try to be anyone else. plus, who likes someone that's perfect?
bwaybabe325 07-08-2004, 01:10 PM I think it's funny how some people try SO hard to "be different", but in their attempt, they manage to end up dressing and looking exactly like everyone else. LOL! If you have to go OUT of your way to be "yourself", then you're lying. LOL. That's so annoying! It happened with one of my friends. She got a really expensive jacket from Switzerland, and then another girl from our school got a cheap rip-off of it, but Marie still threw hers out... Or donated it to a charity or something. OK!? So annoying. LOL~
xoxo :)
-=[Lauren]=- 07-09-2004, 03:12 AM I cop a lot of rubbish from my older brother. He totally hates me and wishes I was dead.
I can't ignore what he says to me all the time, And it really hurts me deep inside. :(
So for all of you with siblings, Please try to get along with them.

Aw, don't let him get to you. I have 2 older brothers, both of them tormented me since the day I was born, and I've become quite used to it. Ignoring him won't always work, but don't let him walk all over you and call you names, that will only hurt you more. Next time he says something hurtful, tell him how you really feel. I told my brother(s): "You know, you think you're being funny, but you aren't! You aren't funny at all, and that really hurts me when you say those things. So if you want to go on saying them, GO AHEAD, but keep in mind that one day your going to need your little sis, and she is going to resent you for saying those things to her, even after she asked you to stop!"
Needless to say, they are careful about what they say to me now. Heheh, but my little bro is just plain annoying!:D
lefty 07-09-2004, 03:36 AM My little sister and I used to resent each other. She would make fun of me when I had problems, and I would say stuff like, "I hope you never have to come to me for advice, because I won't give it to you!" and she promised me that she would never need advice from me.
Things changed when she got into high school. :hehe:
Combat Babe 07-09-2004, 03:49 AM See, I don't get that from my family. I get "Oh, but your smarter than all of them, and few people have minds like you do. You should skip to like 10th Grade!" It's so annoying. I took a test last year to skip to 9th, but failed. I don't tend to study ahead of my year, so I didn't know the material. Therefore, skipping is hard, especially in OK, since we have crappy schools that don't care about your education, they care about the extra money they get for honor students.
sebluver 07-09-2004, 03:17 PM My parents don't compare me to anyone, they just say, "Look at these grades, you're so smart, why don't you do better?" Or my mum calls me a something and yells at me, then takes away my computer cord.
Pfft. I'm NOT smarter, so stop saying it. If I was so darn smart, I wouldn't have gotten a D+ in Science during one quarter.
But anyways, back on topic. I'm usually the person to compare grades with my brother, saying, "Hey, Eddie was failing math in freshman year! I'M not as bad as that.." Then they tell me not to compare the two, or something.
