what you do is you make you family gain money (when they earn more than they spend...) and soon your net value increases. in the neighbourhood view, you can see how much ur net value is... then when you have enough money, sell all your furniture, and leave your preset house, and move your family to the bigger one...

but serously, i tried the BIG BIG house in the first sims... it aint cool. the kids don't go to the pool cuz they just go swim instead LOL, and it takes hours for ppl to get from their bedroom to the kitchen heheheh.

make them get a job or you can cheat and use the get more money code... hehehe seriously tho... i found it hard to sleep, go to work, and make family friends... it takes them SOOO long to do anything that you can never really get everything accomplished, so... I just quit my job and cheated...

see, you have to have family friends to get promoted and after you take the time to have a party and meet people, and then use the bathroom, sleep, and eat and go to work, it is like a constant cycle and then you don't have time to enjoy all the stuff that you bought with your high paying job!!! grrr...

::edit:: wo0x! happy 500th post to me!... ::edit::

Well, what I do, is move them into one of the teeny lots and then use the money cheat (I admit it i'm a small-scale cheater!!!!;)) to get a little over 20,000 so you can move in, but technically it isn't cheating because you still have to earn the money to survive!!:)

I admit it! i cheat ALOT too! *lol* well what i do is fill the WHOLE box with rosebud and ;!;!;! (you know) and then i copy it ALL up, then i go on again, i paste it all, then repeat until i get all the money that i want! *lol* well you may know that already but i just wanted to say that lol. i get soo much money that i feel that i shouldnt even send them to work. But it is way too much work to keep them happy for soo long you know, so thats why i send them all to work. besides if you have about 2 ppl then it is too hard to keep them happy! even with all that money! (but i think there is a cheat so they can think for themselves..) oh well. Hey dont you think its funny when the ppl go in the bed and start "playing"? (oh well i cleared my mind now!)

i always use the money cheat. But i never buy a sim house, i always build myself. Have you seen that castle that is in the right top of your screen? it isn't really a castle.. Their hallway is bigger then their living room :P

seriously.. there's a point where it gets too big... like it takes your sim an hour to get from the bedroom to the lower floor.. (thus not being able to work, or do anything interesting)

i like my house nice and small.

uggh. don't u hate it when your trying to get two ppl together, their friend meter is at 100, but they only consider each other as friends? i was try to get these two ppl together... and after around 5 hours i was like WT^?!?! omg... oh well... heheh. i guess the character i made wasn't very attractive or interesting... HAHA! no wonder... i modeled it after me LOL

Sometimes I use the cheat when I get bored and want to build the ulitimate house or test out things I downloaded. I don't use it just to play anymore, because that makes the game boring quickly.

I like medium sized houses; not too big, not too small. I noticed that a big house does take a while to get from point A to point B, but when I had a bunch of roommates and one family (me, my child with Sisqo, Sisqo and the rest of the group when there was just four members), I needed the space. That's why there was a bathroom on each floor, and each person had their own TV in their room, lol. It just sucked that people were late for work because it took them to long to get downstairs to the kitchen, It wasn't only the distance, but other sims had to use the stairs at the same time (I had two sets of stairs).

A pool is nice, but I hate it when guests invite themselves to go for a dip in the pool. When I call you over to talk in order to get our points up, I except that to happen and for you to leave so I can go to bed for work, lol. That's why I'm thankful one of my sims does magic, so I have them call over a few people they haven't talked to for a while, do the relationship spell, and send them on their ways ;) The only problem I have with that is when that Mystery Guy fines me.

I think that if it takes me almost 90 points to be your friend, you're not worth it because I'll have to call you back over in a few days.

Am I the only one who's ever made a family of eight who's as nice and friendly as can be, give them a phone, and never deal with that lot again? Then, the only time you see that family again is when you're playing another lot and using them for "easy" friendships? *shifty eyes*

I've been playing The Sims since the first one came out. I have ever pack except The Sims Online. At the time it came out, I noticed that I didn't have the time to play it, so it would be a waste for me to pay that monthy (is it still monthly and the same price?) fee and not play. I have House Party, but it's not installed. It worked fine for a while, but it was after one of the times my old computer crashed that it ceased to work correctly after I reinstalled everything.
