I know this maybe odd but did you ever give your computer a name? When my mom bought us a computer we named it David but my mom didn't like the computer and returned it back. Then we bought Henry and it's always been Henry till this day.

My point is do you have a name for your computer? Or even a nickname? :lol: Sorry if this belongs in nut news.

Hmm, I have a few computers (that use to b shared or formatted) My family and I made silly names for it. Purple [Monkey] Dishwasher, Crinder, Kitty, Mad_Kitty. Now I have my own computer...but I don't remember it's name! I think it has no name! NOoooo!!! Must go name it :D

I'm pretty sure that's it... so it's the service code or whatever it is from the manufacturer, but that's still it's name :P (seriously. somewhere there's a name associated with the computer and that's actually what it's set as- also, i know that my high school names all their computers as [room number]-[computer number] so they know which one is which on the network)

found it: in Windows 9x, if you go to the control panel, open the network thing, and on the identification tab there's a space for the computer's name. if you wanted to, you could actually name your computer :P

All PCs on my school network need to be named in order to get on the network... most people use their last name or something boring like that, but mine is (surprise!) quasigeek.

I'm already trying to think of a name for my next PC, but haven't thought of anything. Maybe something will come to mind when I'm building it. :P

Mine's name is Chip. It was so corny I had to name it that.

My PC`s name is Neo, My iPod is Trinity, and my Linux computer is Morpheous. (I really wanted to name it Tux after that cute penguin but i decided to name it morpheous). I dont think my laptop has a name though...

Doesn't anyone have a nice name for their computer. My poor computer, Henry is getting upset. LOL!

My computer name is Osgiliath off of a specific tower in lotr which I won't go in to for your sake... :P
But it's usually called lappy. Very original.

When I first got my computer and XP was being installed in it, it asked me to put the name of my computer in a blank space. And I was freaking out because I thought that was the coolest thing ever.

So now, in honour of my best friend Emily, it's named Emily.
