do you know how to make a smaller square or whatever shape with a picture standing out of the background like this?

they probably just made the square frame, put a photo in it and added the text. Then merged it to one picture, and transformed it a bit to get the shape like on the picture. then add some dropshadows to it to make it look more on the foreground :)
