:cloud: Hey. Does anyone know how to get rid of a background? I know there's background eraser with PSP8 but it doesn't seem to work that well. Isn't there another way to getting rid of the background. For example with this wallpaper: pirate (http://img1.photobucket.com/albums/1003/Jchris34232/piratesong.jpg) and here's the original photo of Johnny Depp depp (http://img1.photobucket.com/albums/1003/Jchris34232/Jack20Sparrowref.jpg).

Ummm the background eraser works well, it's just there's alot of mixed color in those photos. Try using the magic tool selection and clicking the outside of jhonny depp. then with the rough edges carefully erase with normal eraser.

If the background eraser/magic wand doesn't work (since the character seems to have a lot of mixed pixels too) you can try to use the freehand selection/polygonal lasso tool to carefully select around the character, then invert the selection and delete the background outside

or do point-to-point or smart-edge w/ the freehand tool, those usually find edges pretty well.

I usually use point-to-point and feather it about 10-15 px. (right click on the lasso tool, select tool options)
