Why is it when we ask our moms for something they say no and when we ask our dads for the same thing they say yes?

Well... it is not always that way. Sometimes parents just have different opinions on something than the other... like everyone else in the world ;). But if you asked them "can I go jump off a cliff" I doubt either of them will say yes. So it all depends what you are asking.

My dad's the computer guy, so whenever I want something computer-related, he always tries to make it happen. He's also more understanding when it comes to electronics in general than my mum is.

yeah... I got the same type thing going on with my parents... my dad is more logical... and a thinking kind of person... my mom is more artsy and more of a "weeeeeeee" kinda person. So if I ask my dad for a $500 pack of paints... it will probably be no... but if I ask my mom... it will probably be yes

My dad always says "Ask your mom" =P Then sometimes my mom'll say back "Go ask your father". THEN I'll REALLY be in a perdicament(sp?)

My dad usually doesn't approve of sleepovers, and it usually takes a bit of coaxing towards my mom to let me stay out later when I'm somewhere  But basically now I have it down when it comes to who I should ask what question =P

Yep. All I hear from my dad is "Go ask mum." And then I go and ask my dad...and all I get is "Go ask your dad." Of course, my dad doesn't pay attention to much, so if my mom's travelling, I get away with things...like not doing anything. My parents don't really care how late I stay out. They know all the friends that I'd likely be anywhere with. As long as they don't have to stay up to let me in.

I usually get an "I don't care" from my mum, never really ask my dad if I can do anything since working/not home/sleeping :P If I want anything in the electronics-type department I have to ask him, and then I end up getting something different from what I wanted because it's cheaper and better according to him  I'm planning on not allowing him to do that to me next time, no matter how much it takes :P

If I want to stay home sick (I only do this when I'm really sick, I swear), I usually try my dad. My mum's so cold, I always get a, "You seem to be sick alot lately," (which is so not true) from her. But my dad says (in the worried fatherly voice), "Are you sure you'll be able to make it through the day at school?"

I've learned all the tricks, at any rate. But I only use them when I'm actually sick-I have to, because apparently you can be blowing your nose by the 5 tissue full, but you're not sick unless you have a fever.

whenever i ask my dad if i can do something, which i'm pretty sure my mommy will say no to, he always says "i don't mind but you have to ask your mom, too" because he knows she'll get mad at him for saying yes :lolol:

Well, usually. My dad says "when I have the money," or "at the first of the month,". Come to think of it, I STILL haven't gotten anything for my birthday. I told him that I wanted all three LOTR on DVD...and I'm still waiting...
