View Full Version : adobe photoshop 7 mdcheerhottie07 06-19-2004, 10:02 PM does anyone know where i can get a free copy of adobe photoshop 7? i've been to adobe.com to get a trial but they onnly have photoshop CS and it doesn't let me open the brushees i wanna use. stargrl329 06-19-2004, 10:47 PM I have a link, but I'm not sure if the site it leads to hosts illegal downloads or not, so I'm afraid to post it here. If you'd like I can PM it to you though :) Why-Not 06-20-2004, 10:00 PM is that one of thos sites witch charges you after u have downloaded it? biscuitrat 06-21-2004, 06:49 AM First, you can go to Adobe.com and download a 30 day trial. This worked well enough for me for the 30 days I used it. I think what might be happening is you can't find the directory with the brushes. If you click the little arrow on the menu (it looks like this: ( |> )), then you'll be able to load brushes. It should go directly to the directory with the brushes. Most computers nowadays come with either Paint Shop Pro or Photoshop. Which is why I'm envious of my brother. I remember reading through Lissa's website, and I found the Photo Plus link. You could try that as well. One thing I'd be careful with. Don't try downloading from sites that may not monitor the content. You could get a nasty virus or adware/spyware infection with the download, and it gets annoying. Of course, as a last LAST resort, you could use Paint! Price vs. Productivity Photoshop: A very powerful tool for making interactive, interesting images, editing photos, however...I've seen it for about $200 +...and if you don't want to pay so much, you probably want to try something else. Paint Shop Pro: From what I've heard, it's like Photoshop, but it has a price range from (where I've seen it) $50-$90. A bargain, considering what it does! Fireworks MX: Not nearly as good as Photoshop. It's good for simple things. I'd rank it as 3/4 out of the 4 I'm going to say. Paint: I'm not even going to rate Paint. It's there, it's old. It's for either the desperate or the new age thinkers. Personally, it's like going back to square wheels for me. cloudy01 06-21-2004, 11:38 AM you have to buy it, they have to make money you know. unless you can get a copy of it from your friend or something Vanessa87 06-21-2004, 02:44 PM I've used both Adobe Photoshop and Paint Shop Pro. Although currently I'm using v.9 of PSP. I perfer Photoshop over PSP because to me it seems less complicated and easier to do things. Although I haven't ever used the newer version of Adobe because when I tried to download the free-trial it made my computer all screwy and ran it slow, I was assuming because of how large of a program is. I resorted to going and buying Paint Shop Pro 8, I did have 6 and never upgraded to 7, heh. I miss using Photoshop but the package of Photoshop I want is $800.00 or more and thats going to take me a while to save up, so I resorted to paying 110.00 for PSP and got a $30.00 rebate plus another $20.00 rebate because I owned a former version of PSP. What a deal :) I only paid $60.00 for it and I've grown accustom to it and can work it like I did Photoshop...but I miss it heh. Why-Not 06-21-2004, 07:03 PM read the rules, no talking about warez and stuff ;) smartie5602 06-23-2004, 09:39 PM I like photoshop far better than paint shop pro. I just find it much more user friendly. Basically, any place you can download or buy photoshop 7 or above for free or any price below £100 or so is likely to be illegal. There are sites which will sell 'back-up' copies of all sorts of software, which many friends of mine have used... They are less than legal, so like the previous person said, I shall not post the links here. I am investigating buying a genuine student version of photoshop cs for myself with come of my loan money (i'm starting uni next year, multimedia technology and design :) ). xxLiz tucker 06-24-2004, 12:39 AM psp came out with version 9? anwho, i think that lissa said not to ask for illegal versions of adobe photoshop (actually i think it was marianne with flash) so a mod might not like this thread. ; D tucker 06-24-2004, 12:41 AM psp came out with version 9? anwho, i think that lissa said not to ask for illegal versions of adobe photoshop (actually i think it was marianne with flash) so a mod might not like this thread. ; D anwho, any free version of adobe photoshop is illegal. and if you really like adobe and want to support their product, you should buy it, if not, then dont get it at all. canadaluvsotown 06-25-2004, 05:45 AM I was going to make a thread about this, but seeing as there already is one... I was wondering where is the cheapest place to buy Adobe Photoshop 7.0? I currently have a free 30 day trial, but that runs out on the 30th of June, so it's not really any good. I do want to buy it, but the cheapest I can find it for is $699.99, and though I have the money, I think that's absolutely crazy to pay that much for a program when I got my computer for the exact same price. Anyone have any ideas? lefty 06-25-2004, 03:49 PM psp came out with version 9? There is no PSP 9 :confusion Most computers nowadays come with either Paint Shop Pro or Photoshop. Where do you find such computers? biscuitrat 07-09-2004, 07:34 AM My aunt's computer, both my brothers' comps, my dad's, and mine (all dells) came with one of them. I'm sorry if that wasn't helpful. I mean, a new computer is a very expensive and stupid alternative. I think there's one referred on Lissa's site if you can't afford either of them. I mean, it's worth the buy if you DO buy them. But like most people, time and money are precious. AiJahya 07-10-2004, 01:31 AM It isn't Adobe Photoshop, or PSP, buuut... GIMP works fairly well, and it is usuable, especially if you can't afford either Adobe or PSP. The one thing I dislike the most about it is the layout is a little confusing, and some of the earlier filters and things have a lot of bugs. On the plus side, it's legal and completely free. http://www.gimp.org Xaturna 07-13-2004, 01:31 AM What's the difference between Photoshop Elements and Photoshop 7.0?!?!?! Monkey Bizzle 07-13-2004, 01:37 AM I was wondering where is the cheapest place to buy Adobe Photoshop 7.0? ebay!! i just looked on there and i found some "New In Box" for less than 700$ yes, i know... not everyone on here is old enough to use ebay... but for, the ones who are... or the ones who's parents use ebay... Combat Babe 07-13-2004, 01:55 AM Photoshop Elements is made specifically to deal with photographs, while Adobe Photoshop deals with anything you want. For web graphics, you'll want photoshop. Elements is good if you want to do something with family photos and such, though Photoshop can probably do most if not all of that stuff too. They are also supposed to work well together. And yes, ebay is your friend. I can't use it, but my parents can! It's where I got my copy of Sims Houseparty, which btw, had only been used once, and the person wasn't interested in it, so we got it for like 5 bucks since it had been open. I have all the sims expansion packs and i got like 4 of them on ebay and after shipping and everything... i could have just went to the store and got them... and one of them is in another language!!! Xaturna 07-14-2004, 07:15 AM SIMS for only $5?!?!?!?! Lucky!!!! I don't usually buy computer games, because my parents think that it's a waste. (but then why do they let me buy GBA <sp> games?) But I love to go over to my cousin's house to play games. She has the games that I want to play!!! *runs over to cousin's house and logs off* |
