Ok Im a lil confused... If I used a custom font on my site, would it just have to be installed on my computer? Or would everyone who views my site need it to be installed?

I believe it would have to be on your visitor's computer, also. I'm not sure if it will show up as a default font for them or one that's as close as possible. I've viewed my site on a Mac, and some of the fonts were just Arial. I try to use fonts that most people have =) You can put a little requirement thing on your site to let people know, and maybe even provide a link to download the font, but I don't think many people will take the time to download it. I have a ton of fonts on my site (from various programs I installed, plus ones I added on my own), but I try to use the most common ones. When I REALLY want to use a rare font, I make a graphic out of it.

Thanks. So when Lissa said something like "use an unusual font on your site" she meant like one that was common but still interesting?

She meant something different ;) Not one that you usually see on the normal day bases

I think she meant like on your header and graphics and stuff. You can find some fonts here:

It's not finished yet obviously because I just started it on Wednesday.

I know I'm not supposed to advertise but HEY Lissa is my sis and I can advertise if I want to :hehe:

If you use a font as text, and someone doesn't have it, they will see the text in their default font (often Times). But if you use it in a graphic, it looks the same for everyone. CSS allows you to specify a list of fonts, in priority order, so you could have the unusual one plus some more common ones so the site could still look nice for people who didn't have it.

I believe you have to upload your font file onto your server, and then you have to change the file type of the font, though I'm not sure what it's supposed to become

Like I said, if you really like a font, use it as/on a graphic =)

The file type for the font should be .eot, I believe.
