There might be something I'm missing but last I checked .psd was a photoshop only format made for photoshop..... Then again you could be talking about something totally different...

With PSP7, you can save it as .psd. I dont know about PSP8 though...
Or instead, save your files as .psp It works like a .psd...

you should be able to select psd as the file type from the drop down menu when you go to save it. mine automatically makes it PSD format and if i want it as something else, i have to choose it...

what's a psd do? isn't it just the way photoshop saves the files so it can be left as layers?

precisely

just saves the different layers, blending options, and opacities. ALso saves text stuff... In short it saves EVERYTHING which can make .psd files quite big... When I make a complicated web layout my .psd files usualy get up to 20 mb....

Why do you need PSDs for your site? Is it better than a .gif?

Only reason you would have it on your site is if someone wanted to download the file... not view it. They would need a program like psp or PS to view it....

I said psd's coz ppl keep calling it that. I'm not sure if its called something else for psp but what i meant was how can u crop away the background of a picture u have so that only the person can show instead of whats behind them? (w/o it looking disfigured or weird)

pul out the erase tool and zoom in really close OR you can select what you down want with the magic want tool IF psp has it... and delete that stuff THEN go in and earse the left overs... There is no easy way to do this. You just have to delete what you don't want.
