this may sound stupid but what are divs?

Division Layers I think but I am not sure

a div is like a box that you can position anywhere on your website. If you put just text or a pic in a div, you can scroll but I have seen people put iframes in divs and graphics so they can overlap things on their site. check out lissa's site to learn more.
